Originally Posted By Tinkeroon I've heard Janet Evanovich's earlier romance books are just as you described, Tinkerbell819, corny. But her Stephanie Plum series is a hoot! Just love them! And her new series with the race car driver is promising to be really good too. I read the first one (Metro Girl) and it was good. Right now I'm reading Rosie by Alan Titchmarsh. It's cute and light and comical.

I read it out of order so I had to do a lot of paging forward and back to figure things out but it was still great! It is one of the best sellers for our little used book store (where I work). If we have extras I can take them home to read and return without having to pay for them but being as how they have been so popular there are rarely any to take home. The one that I read was being thrown out because the binding had come unglued and all the pages were falling out. I just rubberbanded it and handled it very carefully. I am presently reading another historical romance by Victoria Alexander called What a Lady Wants. It's good so far. I just started it.

Luckily I have the last one lined up as Dave and the kids bought me the set for my BD this year. I know that she has said the series is not yet over so I will have to wait and see but I have to admit I learned more about Scotish history in the first book than I knew before and then to go into early American History is fatastic. I think however my next few reads will have to be non-serial as in the last couple of years I have gone through John Jakes North and South, to the Lord of the Rings and then to The Fraiser series.
