Read it so fast that I did'nt get a chance to post. I loved it but very light read.

Back to John Jakes now (unless we get more of the series I guess)

I LOVE this author! And this book is wonderful, though I am a bit bummed that I'm over 200 pages in and so far NO Disney reference. Usually he mentions Disney in some way, shape, or form within the first 100 pages of his books.

While it is interesting, Haass seems to want to detail every little thing to the nth degree. I just now made it through Desert Storm - the minutiae gets a bit much.

He summarizes very well - as I noticed in the very short chapter on the Clinton years. (Of which he was not part of the administration).

So, maybe its easier for him to observe and summarize than to write in the same way when he's got a personal stake in it or something.

Anyway. .so far, its been good, if not for some struggling with writing style and length of the first few chapters.

You can definitely tell the guy respected Bush 1 more than Bush 2.

It was okay. I kept reading because I wanted to see what disaster was to come but it wasn't that great of a book.
