And in December, you are very likely to snag a great deal on Swan/Dolphin (and I do consider them to kinda be WDW resorts ... just with better service and quality) at a much lower price point.

WL, my fave, is where everyone wants to stay at the holidays, so while you might snag some great rate at S/D (because conventions dry up in December) you would be very hardpressed to get a discounted room at WL for your timeframe. And the place isn't worth $300-plus a night, no matter how much I love it ... and not when you may get S/D for under $150.

If we get it for around 150ish, I'd be there.

After Boston, anything is possible! Heh. Care to sit in B/N with me and be boring?

    >~Still would love to know what went down at the Plaza!~<

Okay Spirit, it's been 3 months. I'll list a summary for easier reading. Here goes:

    1) Got to the Plaza 10 minutes before my priority seating for lunch.
    2) After about 20 minutes I went back to the desk and asked if they forgot about us because it looked like the place was half empty when I looked inside. I was told that they were a little behind. Fine, no problem.
    3) After another 20 minutes of waiting I went back to the check in desk and was told that the delay was that the people eating inside were slow, even though there were still empty tables. Now I'm getting a little agitated since it was a typical hot and humid day in Orlando and I had also just lost almost an hour of my time.
    4) After another 10 minutes or so we finally got called in and brought to our table only to find that the bench that we would have to sit on was littered with food, grease and milk. When I brought this to the attention of the hostess she sighed and said we could go wait outside until it was cleaned up. I told her we would wait right there. She sighed again, left, and came back with a towel and cleaned HALF of the bench off. I finally just took the towel from her and cleaned the bench myself.
    5) Oops! We had a reservation for 6 and there were only 5 place settings and we were short one chair. My son took a chair and place setting from the table next to us and we sat down and got our menus. Finally it was over after over an hour!
    6) Nope. The hostess came over and said that we couldn't use the chair because they needed it for another party. My son said he wasn't giving up the chair because it would leave him with no place to sit. He was told to sit on the bench where there was not enough room, basically cramming 6 people into where 5 should be sitting. I told the hostess flat out that enough was enough and that my son would not be moving. She walked away
7)Everything's fine and we put our order in. Wait a minute. Now the manager with the Madonna headset comes over and tells my son that he has to obey the rules while in the parks and has to give up his seat. Now my blood is starting to boil. I explained to the manager about the wait, being one place setting short, having to clean up the bench myself, etc. He ended up walking away and I thought it was over. Great!
8)Here comes our food. We all start eating, but wait, now here comes that pesky manager again. While we were eating,he proceeded to say that he had checked with the desk and said that we had given him false information about our wait time and practically accused us of lying. I told him that we just wanted to eat in peace and that I didn't come to Disney to get hassled. My wife calmly explained to him that he was mistaken and to please just leave us alone. Unbelievably, he persisted and basically was lecturing us like we were in the principal's office as 5th graders. I started seeing red and got and and walked out in order to not make a scene. Besides, my appetite was literally ruined. My wife gave the manager a lesson on how Disney USED to treat it's guests and followed me out. Remarkably, my sons and their wives stayed and ate (guess they were hungry!) while we walked down to Customer Relations and told our story to the usual apologies. BTW, the manager came over when it was time to pay the bill and told my kids that we would not be charged for my wife and my meals!!!! How nice of him.

I can honestly say that I have never, ever been treated so rudely and with such aggression at a Disney or any other restaurant in my life and I'm from New York City! I eventually calmed down and went back to try and talk to the manager but he was unavailable.

Oh yeah...don't ever hassle me while I'm eating!

I'm the one who geets hot in that kind of situation and my DH has to calm me down. When I finally get cooled down I can talk much calmer.

The manager should have been fired ON THE SPOT.

You should have received a SIGNIFICANT (i.e. hundreds of dollars) credit on your account.

That behavior is totally unacceptable and I would have made sure everyone up the MK chain of command and the WDW Food and Beverage chain were made aware of it.

Almost sounds like they werethisclose to calling Security and making an ugly incident much MUCH uglier.

You can't tolerate (bleep) like that.

This was a case where I probably should have been compensated, but I really did not want to be. I actually stopped by later and asked to speak with the manager but he was in a meeting ( maybe because I complained at Guest relations?). I was offered a 2 FP (big deal) but I told whoever was there that it wasn't about getting something for free, it was about what is right and wrong with the way we were treated, especially at Disney. I did end up taking the 2 FP which I gave to a couple a teenage kids.

Quite frankly, since my son's were wearing Yankee shirts I was wearing a Giants shirt, I think we were being stereotyped as obnoxious New Yorkers. Just my opinion. Well, I have news for Disney, this 'obnoxious" New Yorker lives for his down time at Disney and just wants to have a relaxing vacation.

I should have written a letter and maybe still will do so, but I know it will just be chalked up as someone complaining to try and get something.
