I wonder if it's even available here, I haven't seen it around...

It's actually quite good, and that reviewer - how do I put this kindly - doesn't seem to know what he's looking at. Once Upon a Wintertime, aside from having a wonderful score, is the Mary Blair-est thing the studio ever did. It really does look like her paintings come to life. Bumble Boogie is just plain awesome. Surreal animation at its finest. Pecos Bill is even awesomer, although it's censored on the DVDs (Bill smokes in the original). Ward Kimball animation all over the place, plus Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers on the soundtrack. Even the not-so-good segments are solid examples of Disney juuuust past the absolute pinnacle of their artistry. A lot of Disney fans tend to dismiss the mid-to-late 1940s features (besides the one they can't have, Song of the South). Huge mistake. They run rings around such claptrap as The Sword in the Stone and The Aristocats, pushing the boundaries of animation instead of retreating back into them. Your viewing list: Melody Time Fun and Fancy Free Saludos Amigos The Three Caballeros The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad and of course Make Mine Music (which contains "All the Cats Join In" - automatically making it one of the best movies ever despite some admittedly weak segments. It, sadly, is also censored on the DVD.) I expect a full report on each.
