There are literally thousands of engineers who work for Caltrans. Most of these people work on highway projects. I’m with a group of only six people who specialize in designing new and trouble shooting old water and wastewater systems. I had almost two decades of experience outside of Caltrans that resulted in my finding this niche. I frequently travel the entire State to provide input on old and new projects. I enjoy traveling very much. There is so much variety in what I do (surveying, designing, drafting, constructing, etc.) that it never gets dull, except for all the paperwork. Outside of work, my interests lean toward art. I dabble in it enough to be good, but not great. I’ve always enjoyed museums. I’m crazy about Disneyland and most other theme parks because of all the engineering required for the sole purpose of ‘having fun’, i.e. audio-animatronics, roller coaster physics, theme park architecture (there's a lot of engineering in that), etc. I have a lot of other interests I pursue, and they are too many to list here, but I would put at the top Bible study, music, cooking, . . . . ah, the list just goes on and on.

The most important part of what I do and who I am is my job as mom and a little bit dad to my son. I used to be a house wife with nothing but a high school education and no abition. Then after 8+ years of marraige when our son was 19 months old, my husband was in a car accident. After 13 months in a perminant vegitative state, his feeding tube fell out and we decided not to replace it, he died 3 days after my 33rd birthday. While he was still in the hospital I started back at school and earned a Network Hardware Specialist Certificate, which I used to get an MIS intern job which eventually turned into the job of MIS Technician. I've been doing PC support in coporate, tribal government and banking environments since I started that intern job back in 2000. I'm also a poor substitute of a "mom" to my late friend's son. I could never replace her, nor would I want to, but I do the best I can for him. His dad, in return also does "dad" duty for my son. We're an odd little family (new for 2007) but it's working out really well. It helps that the boys have known each other since they were 4 and have been best friends since kindergarden. Hobby wise there's LP, Disney the occasional PC game that will engulf my life for about a week and vollunteering at land speed racing events. It's all good.

I supervise the construction of landscapes in the Lake Tahoe-Truckee area. We focus on perfection in our craft, and have a solid reputation as being the best in the area. Even though we dont advertise at all, we are booked solid through word of mouth, and referrals. I was greatly inspired by Walt Disney's drive for perfection, and though it has cost our company many thousands of dollars, the customer satisfaction has paid huge dividends. I am currently single, and reside in the Reno area. Hobbies include riding my quad, home theater, mountain biking, local history, and my vintage Disney collection.

I was married when I was 18 and had my first daughter at 20. My youngest child is turing 20 in March and I look at her and think "no way" I was a stay at home mom for 23 years doing the typical stuff, room mother for a bazillion years, Campfire and/or Girl Scout leader, team parent, ballet performance committee, PTA whatever. class volunteer, you know, the stuff you do when you "don't work" My husband was the coach of some sport for one of the kids at all times, which meant I also went to all the games as well as to all the games and practices of the other kids while he was coaching the other one. Good times and lot's of Campbell's soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. When our youngest DD was in Jr. High I started to work at DH's office part time, just to see if we could handle it. As it turned out we got along fine. Sort of a right and left brain thing. Now it's just the 2 of us in the office and we are doing quite well I LOVE Disney. Mostly Disneyland itself. I love to plan trips and themed parties for the family. I scrapbook but it tends to get put off. I love to buy the scrapbook stuff though. Oh, and I LOVE to shop. I got that from my mom and have passed it on to my girls. My mom and siblings live close to us and we all get along We tend to do things with our family members and a few close, long time friends.

I've been with the company almost as long as I've been married, but I've only been in my current position for three days (I love promotions!). Last year I was one of the top ten sales agents for my company, and this year, I'm definitely the top for not only my department, but hopefully, the whole company (still waiting on final numbers to come in). I've also worked for local TV news, the Disney Store, call centers for AT&T and DirecTV, Hollywood Video, and a costume shop. I received my BA from BYU in English Education. I grew up in southeast Idaho. Our family's big vacation was about every other year, and always to Disneyland. I love visiting Disneyland, and maybe, while I've still got my travel privlages, I'll have to visit WDW or even hop over the pond to check out Disneyland Paris (still waiting for that Tokyo route to open up). I collect movies and comic books and have recently taken up raising tropical fish. I love animation, not just the end result, but the entire creative process. The last movie I saw in a theater was Nightmare Before Christmas 3D. The last book I read was The Imagineering Workout. I often spout craziness regarding cheese dip as a result of my love of Groo comics. Let's see, what else. I'm an Eagle Scout, went on a music tour of Moscow and St Petersburg while in high school, and up until last month, had volunteered with my wife to be nursery leaders for the 3 and under crowd during church services.
