Sorry to bitch you out, Jim. I thought you were trying to be a thread sniper. I've learned to assume the worst about posters on Disney forums.

I agree the sfx in the Fifth Dimension aren't perfect; they should have been plussed by now. But the same could be said for the whole park.

With the 5th Dimension room -- I wasn't looking for flaws, but I immediately noticed that it was hot in that show building, and for whatever reason, my eyes were drawn to the floor, and there was this well-worn set of tracks that the elevator was going to be travelling on.

Maybe a 'Peter Pan's Flight' sort of mechanism to give the sensation of floating, I don't know...

Maybe rough up the floor with a textured paint so that it isn't so obvious.

We all have varying levels of what accounts for detail -- that 5th Dimension room sort of ruined it for me.

I've never noticed that, but then we always go to WDW in January or at Thanksgiving.

Then we left. We were there for 12 days and had this luxury.

(Okay I work in a studio so...)

I do love their TSMM better than ours. I wish they had Fastpass.

Shopping: Syd's place is amazing. I swear I drop some cash each time I'm there. I believe that they buy celebrity stuff from auctions that raise money for charity, so I'm happy to pay whatever for whatever. I ALMOST made DH buy the $65,000 Dick Van Dyke jacket from Mary Poppins. (It was half-off, so $32,500, but he said no.)

I like the Movie Ride very much.

I do wish they'd do something with Sounds Dangerous. It makes those of us who work in sound seem lame. It could be so much, well, better! (I have ideas...)

I love the dinosaur in the middle of the lake.

I love walking down the street then seeing Darth Vader appear near the Star Tours. The little kids we saw were just insane over seeing DARTH VADER (I was too!)

    I like Prime Time Cafe.

3)Tower of Terror another top notch ride

4)Star Tours has a masterful entry area

5)One Man's Dream is the most underrated feature in **any** of the 11 Disney theme parks......how any true Disney fan can not be spellbound is beyond me.

    6) some outstanding eats there--- only Epcot and Disney Sea have better.

Wow, I totally disagree! I only seem to like Prime Time Cafe. I also don't like fussy food, so there you go.

I can eat myself obese at Epcot, though.

Nighttime really sets this Park off.

Not sure why it matters if the ride is "ground-based" or not. Visible ride tracks are visible ride tracks.

Because in the opening of 'The Twilight Zone' which the 5th Dimension Room emulates, you're floating through space.

So, the 5th Dimension Room is supposed to give the illusion that you're floating through space -- which, when there are tracks on the ground, doesn't help to support that notion.

In other news, let's plan on NOT taking our Walt Disney World vacation together.

I certainly won't blast you. I think too often people forget that Disney Parks need to appeal to a wide range of tastes and ages, and not everyone thinks Pirates of the Caribbean is the end-all and be-all.

    :)

I've never sensed that the Fifth Dimension is supposed to be floating through space. Did you read that somewhere or just make it up?

Here's my thinking: if you're floating through space, why would you end up in the hotel building all during the drop sequence? I always thought the Fifth Dimension was just a trippy hotel floor, not a flight through space (maybe you're getting this confused with Star Tours).

    >>In other news, let's plan on NOT taking our Walt Disney World vacation together.>>

Don't worry about that. I wouldn't take a vacation to WDW.

Toy Story Midway Mania is my mom's new favorite ride. She absolutely loves it.

I will take a WDW trip with anybody! I would just love to be there with another Disney fan. I'm open for Disney Debating.

You end up coming out of it into the hotel you first entered, thus the whole premise of the ride.
