Here's my thinking: if you're floating through space, why would you end up in the hotel building all during the drop sequence? I always thought the Fifth Dimension was just a trippy hotel floor, not a flight through space (maybe you're getting this confused with Star Tours).>

leobloom, WTF? Why are you choosing to argue this?

That's my impression of the 5th Dimension room in Tower of Terror. End of story.

My apologies if you can't handle commentary that goes beyond the one word descriptions that you gave to the DHS attractions.

I'll not to keep it to mono-syllabic words and short phrases next time.

I'm a HUGE Star Wars fan so Star Tours is always on my visit list (though I do believe that they should update the film). I have also enjoyed TGMR many times, in fact it introduced me to some classic older films that I had never watched before and when I watched them, found that I enjoyed them greatly.
As far as some of the newer things (American Idol), I don't even watch the show on TV and do not believe that I would be willing to take time out of my visit to even bother with it.

Tower is great- and IMHO better than DCA.
The aproach, the building, the landscaping and yes, the horizontal movement, make this the definitive version of the attraction.

    GMR- dated but still terrific.

One Man's Dream belongs at DL. It is that impressive.

I love the general charm and atmosphere of the park. The fascades are great, the layout of the park is just poor. Star Tours entrance is a piece of art.

RNRC is the modern day Space Mountain.

My anticipation for the park as created by walking Hollywood Blvd. shows the old school Imagineers still have it.

In short, DHS has much potential.

I guess for me I never thought of it as being in outer space per se but more just being transported to a different, unidentified realm teeming with a hodgepodge of mindbending props that mess with our sanity.

And I certainly never thought that ghosts/spirits worked on that 'floor' either. I guess I always thought that the service elevator sent guests to an eery unknown, taking us to the edge of utter insanity

That ride is just one big mind*&^$)@#

    .....but I love it!

    Dear Jim:

What indication have you got that I can't handle your commentary? You're not that brilliant, buddy. In fact, your ideas are little half-baked, to be honest. You sound like a person who can't defend his ideas and so resorts to name-calling when his thinking is challenged.

And you never did explain why the visible tracks in TOT are different from the visible tracks in any number of other Disney rides (ground-based or not). But I guess that's another example of your deep, complicated commentary that doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

Let me get the disappointments out of the way before the positives.

I prefer WDSP's versions of the Tram tour, Animation, LMA, RNRC and ToT. So they are not major draws for me but enjoyable. Also I much prefer DL's Fantasmic. If I had not been to DL or DLP so many times, I would probably rate DHS even higher. However I do like it.

    On to the good:

I love the streetmousphere of DHS, it is some of Disney's entertainment at their best. The characters are a real hoot.

Hollywood Bvd is lovely, much nicer than the real thing.

The GMR has a wonderful exterior - and inside are real gems. I have never had a good guide sadly, which knocks it down, and many effects are often broken. But when working properly, I adore the Mary Poppins scene, and Gene Kelly (Singing in the Rain is one of my fav films of all time). Also the Alien, Indy, Gangster and Wizard of Oz scene is absolutely delightful.

A few upgrades would be nice, but the GMR is one of the draws to WDW for us.

I like Rock N Roller Coaster - huge Aerosmith Fan and I like coasters. But it's not a big deal for us anymore as I prefer WDSP's version, same with ToT (prefer DCA, WDSP version). Though I love the beam of light before the drop and the random effects. A classic.

Fantasmic is ok, but it is nice to be able to sit down. That's about the only positive, so let's move on.

Special mention for PlayHouse Disney Live. It is a very well done show, and if you have someone in the preschool set, it is a must see. My kids love it and it was a real highlight. I am looking forward to WDSP getting a version next year.

OMD - AWESOME. I had to go in alone because the kids were asleep and my MIL was not interested. I was in awe!. To finally see the Buddy Epsen dancing man after all these years of reading about him was a genuine thrill.

I love Star Tours (though because I am used to it at DL and DLP, it feels strange at the Studios). Love the queue, shop, and especially the Jedi Academy.

I do really miss Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Play It - I used to love that.

Blood Sweat and Shears are one of Disney's best music groups, they are fantastic!

DHS has my favourite Christmas offerings of all the parks. The Osbourne Lights are spectacular.

And it has already been said, the dining premise is very good. I like the Sci Fi Dine In, Brown Derbt, and I want to like 50's Prime Time Diner (though I think we had a bad server that impacted our visit).

So overall we like DHS, but we love DCA ;-)

Fantasmic! - I was underwhelmed the first time I saw this because I much preferred DL's, but on my second time (about five years later) I absolutely loved it. Not sure if that was because of lowered expectations or what, but I really enjoyed myself. I haven't seen it since then so I can't give a more up-to-date opinion. Still not as good as Disneyland's of course, but definitely a highlight for me nonetheless.

TOT, of course, and RNRC are both must-dos for me.

I'm a big fan of Sci-Fi and Prime Time '50s.

And last but definitely not least, the Osbourne Family Spectacle of Lights! Since I only go in November / December, I've never been without seeing these so even though I know it's only a seasonal thing, the lights are an inherent part of DHS to me and they're one of my favourite things in all of WDW.
