Now that WDW has succeeded in turning many visitors into annual visitors, it just doesn't seem as special as it used to. I wonder if that is because WDW has really declined that much or it is because any place would seem less special after 25 visits. My most anticipated visit ever was in 1995. My first visit was a very short 2-day visit in 1991 where we stayed off-site. I gave me a brief taste of WDW and I couldn’t wait to get back and experience more. I scrimped and saved for four years and we returned in 1995 staying on-site. The entire experience just blew me away, even though we could only afford the All Stars at that time. The next visit a year later was also fantastic when we stayed at Dixie Landings (NOT Port Orleans Riverside... ugh)... still one of my very favorite resorts. Each trip since then has seemed a little less special... I'm not sure if WDW has changed that much or if I have. Now a Disney Cruise makes me feel the way WDW used to. Will that change too after my 25th cruise? I guess at my age I will never find out. I do know that a Disney Cruise seems absolutely First Class in every respect, and I don't know if I can say that about WDW.

After coming back from studying in Paris, the France pavilion was a fun walk down memory lane. I had a feeling of overwhelming nostalgia while watching Impressions de France and walking through the Disney-fied streets of Paris. And I realize this is total sacrilege, but I would rather spend time in Disney's version of Venice than the real one, which I found to be a very pretty tourist trap. But I shall save my thoughts on my least favorite city in the world for another time!

And yes, most of the things I enjoyed were not created recently. As with us, and millions of others, WDW entertained us thoroughly, from the resorts, restaurants, theming, cleanliness, transportation, ease of on-site vacationing, the attractions, the cast members, to the shows. We loved our trip, so they are certainly still doing a lot well.

For the first time - staying at a value resort (All Star Music) - was very impressed with the level of service. It seemed 99% of the our CM interactions were great. WDW is so immersive! I felt totally catered to. And this is when the hotels, restaurants and theme parks were really busy because of the free dining feature.
