I understand this feeling as parts of it really turned me off - I only would like to see lanyard to lanyard trading - one for one ( not enforceable I know) -
as my youngest really enjoys it, but you have to protect them from those who somehow feel the pins are gold nuggets..and wouldn't hesitate to take advantage of a kid or anyone else in the trading... those with the suitcases in Downtown Disney ( gone in my book) are a glaring part of the problem.

It worked in large part.

But now it's really just sickening when I walk into what was once the One of a Kind Shop in DL's NOS and find it full of them ... same with the Frontierland Trading Post.

TDL got it right (again) when they stopped the trading madness about a year after it started.

Just a grotesque grab for money by Disney.

3000 pins -- person needed help sooner..LOL ! . I collect DVC / Figment / Potc pins....and once in a while something unique ( not necessarily LE type stuff) - -- but 3000 pins at let's be kind and say $10 each -- $30,000.....yikes..that's a nice car ( of 300 points of DVC)

But I stopped in one of the local Disney outlets today and they were selling all kinds of LE pins that go back as far as last Christmas for $3.99 (what they should be priced at to begin with, IMHO) ... the pin thing just needs to end. Sell some, sure. But that's it. No trading. No people in their ECVs with thousands trying to get kids to trade with them. No tacky lanyards on every CM.

    Enough!

as for the pintrading events ending- no big deal to me..haven't gone to one in 2-3 years anyway - and the few i went to really weren;t anything special

The company admitted the recent rehab was to implement improvements that were suggested by the infamous DVC_dad. Apparently, this yahoo known only as DVC_dad, (a 60 year old grandfather of 73 grandkids and 14 great grand kids) has decided to visit the park monthly, with his own family as well as a friend for each grandchild. Rumor has it that early research shows that the overload on the Fastpass system will cause park-wide CM collapse unless the Pooh Playground remains open for DVC_dad to cycle some of his grand kids through while others utilize their fastpasses. It seems after all these years of park visits, DVC_dad has mastered the Fastpass system to the point of being able to ride any ride with any number of kids, at will and Disney doesn't want to upset the paterfamilias_DVC.

    ;) ;) ;)
