But the other two, the inflation question and the TARP question, are the sorts of questions that one might get all sorts of answers on depending on their news source. And as Dabob pointed out, these are the kinds of things that people "know" but don't really believe, or don't want to believe, or whatever.

Anyway, just thought it was interesting.

True about some of the questions, but not others. Many people have their political philosophy, and as a result base how they vote on totally incorrect sets of facts.

The inflation question is a big one that most people got wrong, and a great many people have based their views on what should be done to the economy based on the notion of "high inflation."

Yea... you're right. The only really important thing is whether DL's or WDW's Pirates is better. ;-)

Right. By all means let's feel bad about being informed and educated. Or at best pretend like it doesn't really matter either way.

I sort of guessed on the Google OS though. Don't own a Blackberry or PDAs. No need. My Franklin planner does just fine, thank you very much.

The picture becomes even more bleak when comparing these numbers beside those of other first world nations, particularly in Europe. There was a study published in Political Science Quarterly (I believe that was the journal) to this effect, showing British voter knowledge far superior to American voter knowledge. The disparity of astonishingly stark.

I'll try to find the reference.

On every single question, the more education acquired, the better the performance. Males are also generally more informed than women, as evidenced by their superior performance on every single question.

While the old folks got the Android question wrong, big deal, they were more informed about 10 of the 12 questions. They did less well on question 11, and I suspect many answer Medicaid.

Pointing out stereotypes, even the most obvious ones, is controversial enough. Explaining them is downright dangerous.

    Not a shock.

I got 11/12. I missed the one on TARP.

Same here. I was hovering between the correct answer and the one I ended up choosing. Interesting all around.

Oh, and why did they ask about Android? It seemed like such a non-sequitur question...
