He was working in Dallas and only coming home on weekends, but this weekend he decided to fly instead of drive so we could have his smaller car available for the long weekend for me to practice driving instead of my mom's monster-size Crown Vic. :)

For some reason, I never had the chance to fly anywhere until I was 21. The flight to Tahoe was in a large prop plane.

I never expected to see the wings flap up and down as much as they did. A couple of feet either way.

The next most interesting thing was, while landing, seeing a cow, less than a hundred feet away, zip by at 100 mph.

My wife and I were dating, we fell into one of those sales pitch, won a free dinner for two at a nice restaurant, which turned out to be a sales presentation for river front property on the Colorado river. They said that if anybody was interested in going there, they would fly us over on a plane and treat us to a western style steak fry with entertainment, prizes, etc. I figure what the heck I've never been on a plane and it's free so what do I have to lose? [I found out I lost a day and my desire to ever fly on a small plane again]

It was a 8 seater cessna type plane, flew out of old Ontario airport on the private side. The flight home an engine went out and the second engine had some other problem, we turned around and went back to Arizona, then I argued with the pilot and the company for about an hour because I saw that return trip as a last chance from God to touch ground again and no way was I gettin back on a one of their rickety planes. After much pleading and whining from the other passengers, I got back on, nobody said a word the entire flight, they just sneered at me.

When I was 23 I had first real commercial flight which departed from Billings Montana. It was a propeller puddle jumper plane which made 2 stops [for one more passenger each stop] until we got to Denver, then I got on my first real commercial jet from Denver to LAX.
