Big Thunder was also closed because of that accident when someone was "thrown off"... yet, go figure, I still had a GREAT time! So my final decision is there isn't one ride I have to go on to make the trip complete...it's the sum of the parts : )

I haven't been able to go on splash mountain for the last 6 years until last week, and I loved it. Right now I'd give a tie between POTC and Splash, though BTMRR and Space are close runners-up.

I noticed several folks with "lists" of must rides. I thought it was only ONE ride.
DCA would be Soarin'. Love the Soarin'.

I'm totally insane for rollercoasters, but without the "holy trinity," it just ain't Disneyland.

Agree BIG time on Soarin'. DCA has some of the best attractions to be found in BOTH parks. Definitely the best food overall and it's nice to enjoy a glass of wine with a meal once in a while.

It is actually really hard to settle on one, but, statistically, it is probably Space Mountain for me now. Also, I can't go to DCA without riding Tower. I adore Soarin', but I try to ride it sparingly, so it continues to feel fresh and new as long as possible. (I have been riding Star Tours since the day after it opened, and it hasn't felt fresh or new since about 1991.)

    The key word is "rides."

Sure, Tower and Soarin' are very immersive...but it's the way they move you that make them rides IMO. California Screamin' is a rollercoaster, pure and simple. It is, therefore, a ride.

No attraction is more marvelously immersive than Pirates. The detail, even to this day, is purely astounding.

Splash is also another favorite of mine, I have a lot of good memories with my cousin on that, we were always scared getting on it when we were little but we always made out parents go on it a couple more times after....

But now I adore California Screamin and California Soarin, even though they aren't in DL I still love them, they still have the magic of disney in them.

It's too hard to decide which one is a favorite......

because i tend to visit so often, i tend to focus on one area each visit. sometimes i will focus on fantasyland attractions, riding each of them. sometimes i focus on pirates, mansion, splash and winnie. sometimes i will do only a few attractions at disneyland and instead focus on dca.
however the one constant is small world. i am not sure why, though. i guess because riding it always reminds me of previous visits over the years. small world was always an attraction my family i did each visit.

It will be very interesting since both have been refurbished/rebuilt since the last time I was at DL.... (1998... I know).
