And I will never forget the dusk to nightfall atmosphere while enjoying crispy delicious fried chicken with probably the best darn mashed potatoes I've ever had - with gravy of course. It looked like a little volcano.

So many favorite areas. Guess I'll just pick two: for quiet (IF it's quiet), the courtyard of the angles area in NOS. I love how "away" it seems to be, yet in the back of your mind you KNOW how close Pirates and HM are, should you want to ride.

For non-quiet - in fact specifically because of the sounds - I love the area near the tea cups where you can hear simultaneously: a). the unbirthday song; b). the various sounds of the Matterhorn (the sleds coming to a stop, the wind howling periodically, "permancen ser sentados, por favor"), c). the loud TOCK of the small world clock d). the monorail gliding by and often honking its distinctive horn as it rounds the Matterhorn. All at once, a constant aural reminder that you are in DL and nowhere else in the world.

sort of in fantasy land across from the Matterhorn line under the monorail is a covered "dock" out on some water. in 94 while on our honeymoon we fed ducklings there one afternoon.

One of my new favorites is a place I hadn't been until Lady Starlight showed it to me...where the Columbia goes to dry dock in front of those false-front buildings...I don't know how else to describe it. I'm not sure what the area is.

Walking the path along/around Big Thunder with the canopy of trees...it's lovely.

That cute little porch mentioned above on Main Street.

Anywhere there are twinkle lights...Christmas decorations...snow falling...an unexpected break in the crowds and you find yourself almost alone in the magic...being held tightly watching the snow fall and the Christmas music playing...who could ask for anything more?

I'll have to try the Hungry Bear upper deck...

I like secluded spots where you can just let it soak in...with either heavy foliage, or shade, or darkness falling. There just have been these unexpected times in different areas where it just hits you all at once: I'm here. It's real. There's pixie dust all around. And it makes it ever so much nicer to have someone to share it with.

Watching the fireworks right in front of the castle.

Walking out alone, late at night, on the drawbridge, towards Main Street and hearing a live orchestra playing your song...that moment will never come again, and I will forever be grateful for it.

Walking down Main Street and hearing beloved songs playing when I first arrive.

In Pirates, in the lagoon area, and it is hushed and very still, and you can hear the banjo playing and the fireflies are blinking and you are lost in the magic of it all...

Being right at the apex of the Splash drop in that millisecond before the fall.

What's that place by GRR with the nature type play area? That's a cool place to be in the winter when it's cold and dark and very secluded.

There really are unexpected little treasured moments that pop up when you least expect it, like a gift. I just keep adding favorite places all of the time.

See the lights on the Rivers of America at night, and the sunshine sparkling on it during the day.

Being in the pilot house of the Mark Twain.

By the fireplace at the Grand.

I'll stop now. I could do this all night....

I believe this entire area is called "Fowlers Harbor."

Thats the part of DL that I love, the beginning of the magic.

I also love the Hungry Bear balcony, overlooking the Rivers of America as the Mark Twain goes by.

At night, I love to stroll past Big Thunder ... it's so peaceful, so quiet. I feel like I'm the only person in the park. This might sound dumb but I also love the fact that anywhere else I would probably feel nervous walking through such a dark, quiet area at night, but at Disneyland I feel completely safe.

I was going to say the same place, but you wrote it better than I would so I'm stealing your line! :)
