I am so sorry. It always amazes me how much the furry ones touch their owners hearts, and it is always so difficult to attempt to make a decision like that. My thoughts and prayers are with you guys during Cocita's transition.
Thanks. She has actually improved. I don't know if that is good or bad. About a week ago she fell down the back stairs. She did not seem hurt at all at the time. Then a large abscess came up on her face. We could not see having a dog that will need to be euthanized soon treated so we were going to make the call. But, she ruptured it herself and we cleaned it and treated it with antibiotics and it is healing nicely. She still does not have much time left. She is having trouble climbing the back stairs and still just wants to be in my lap. (I try to indulge her as much as possible but I do have things I have to do.) Often she will not eat unless I hand feed her. The big thing for us is to not let her suffer.
