I am so ticked because I waited for years to own these and waited until the perfect moment to watch them. grr.

A friend had seen it and I had made a prediction on the ending and so basicly I went to see it today to see if I was right, turns out I was. Beyond the predictable plot twist this is one poorly written movie. Not one single person in the movie acts anything remotly like a normal person acts. And also, these kids are the dumbest collection of movie characters ever. Every choice that any one of these kids makes is just insane. Just every little thing that happens in this is idiotic. Even still this movie is still entertaining the same way an Ed Wood movie is entertaining. The acting is also another attrocious part of the film. The lead character is supposed to be forign(We can never really tell where he is from as his accent keeps changing every other scene. Some times it's austrian, sometimes its brittish sometimes its just "?". I assume he is supposed to be brittish as Gary Cole has a cameo near the end as the boys father and he is pulling off a convincing brittish accent. But still... cant be sure. Who ever cast Jon Bon Jovi in this really needs to be kicked. He delivers his lines like the automated voice on your answering machine. And I noticed half way through the movie that the man has the same haircut as my mother... The rest of the cast is made up of 30 year olds trying to be passed of as high school seniors who seem to have the acting skills of an old paper bag. Intersting movie, and should be a part of any film class as an example of "What not to do" I really recomend checking this out if it comes up on tv. If you thought 40 Year Old Virgin was hillarious you should just wait for Cry Wolf. Grade: D(I would have given it an F but i decided that it deserves one letter grade up as I was entertained the whole movie... even if it was for the wrong reasons)

Using the same sets but with a whole different cast & crew, they shot the Spanish version throughout the night, then the American cast came in throughout the day time. I'd never heard of this version of the film. It's a half-hour longer than the Bela Legosi version, and has a similar-but-different feel. Even though I don't speak Spanish, i quite enjoyed discovering this "new" version. Also on the disk is a version of the Legosi film with new music by Phillip Glass. (Both 1931 versions have very little music, other than in the credits.) I haven't been able to access this version, and the main menu on the DVD simple offers the choice of the English or Spanish version. Any DVD experts know how i might find the version with the new music?

Originally Posted By Kar2oonMan It's that one, but a rental. Probably the second disc is missing. The "menu" such as it is, gives two options. Play the original or play the Spanish version. At the start of the Spanish version is a nice little interview with a woman who was in the cast of tyhe Soanish version sharing her recollections. If I hadn't chosen to watch that version, I'd have missed that feature entirely.

I like the music a lot and the songs were good but it seemed truncated a bit and some of the acting wasn't great. Celeste Holm and Warren Oates were very good.
