While I enjoyed it, it just seems to me like it'd be well-suited for direct-to-DVD or festivals only then DVD. Had some great moments, and just as good as the other W&G short films, but it's just lacking something that I can't quite put my finger on. On IMDB, I rated it 8 out of 10. Oh, and btw, MOST of the 0other folks in the theatre with us were families - is it just me, or does it seem odd to bring little kids to see a W&G movie? A good portion of the humor in it was a bit too adult-oriented for little ones IMO.

I give it two thumbs up.

OMG, I LOOOOVE the atmosphere!! It has the perfect stereotype of a spooky, big Victorianish mansion (lotsa candles, cool windows, doors, halls), a graveyard on the moor (moore?) with a perpetual mist like pea soup...GREAT stuff. And I love the whole "BURIED *ALIIIIVE!!*" theme---for those who honestly have a true phobia of that, this may be quite unsettling---but I found it vastly intriguing and entertaining. And it was neat to see Heather Angel in a live-action film---I'd never seen "the voice of Alice's sister" before---and it was the older lady, not the young one like I thought---go figure. Great li'l film. Sleeping Beauty *SO* own the DVD What can I say? "Sleeping Beauty"---'nuff said. I've been wantin' to watch some movies that were either Halloweenish or had some great villains, so this one fit right in, along with bein' my favorite movie ever. Since I'm in contact with Mary Costa now I come to appreciate her vocalization of Aurora more and more---she was such a natural in the role.

For those of you who are fans of the move it is quite interesting. 22 minutes have been added. The first 12 minutes of the movie is all restored footage and I really liked it a lot. There are some added scenes through out the movie and then quite a bit at the end. There are also a couple scenes that were removed. Generally all the new scenes are on par with the rest of the movie with some of the acting being barely okay (though this happens throughout the movie I blame a lot of the poor acting on the unspeakable dialogue) Rob Lowes performance is much enhanced with all the added footage. HOWEVER the original score by Carmne Copoola has been truncated by about 95% and replaced with Elvis tunes, jerry Lee Lewis tunes, rock music and even some surf guitar. While Carmine's score was a bit overwhelming at times (and syrupy as well) it served to help the emotional scenes as well as some of the quiter scenes. This has all been removed and virtually every important serious scene has Elvis or facst paced guitar music that is inapropriate. This new music does work in some of the scenes but it has been inserted in so many spots (many places I don't remember there ever being music before) it almost becomes comical. This new edition is a mixed blessing as the new footage greatly adds to the movie (excet a montage of the trial at the end) but the new music is so contrary to what the orignal mood of the film was that you may be disappointed. The streangth of what music can (and can't do) in films is a good lesson here by watching both versions.
