This wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either... I was hoping for something a bit better for Kronk, especially seeing as all the voices came back... There were a few good moments, but overall, it was just average...

    Toy Story 2 (Special Edition)
    Own on DVD
    No snacks

Great movie as always and the transfer on both this and the recently released Toy Story 1 are incredible! In comparison with my older copies (from the box set from '99 I believe), they are cleaner and crisper! It's amazing... I am not sure the average consumer is going to see a difference between the the two, but with my setup, it is just beautiful to watch... :) It was definitely worth it for me to 'double-dip' these DVD selections...

    :)

    The Skeleton Key
    Rental
Something about voodoo or whatever. Didn't hold my interest at all.

    King Kong, the comedy version
    AMC right now
This is supposed to be a comedy, right?

We've owned this dvd for quite a long time, saving it for just the right time. I thought tonight would be the night. The movie was good but I didn't love it like I thought I would.

There must be something wrong with me this weekend because this is the 2nd movie I was really looking forward to watching and was disappointed by.

I'm glad to hear that, I usually spend New Years Eve day going to a few movies with my parental units. King Kong(again) and this one.

    Don't think that way, mele.

One thing I love about this thread is that is shows us that we all have personal, idiosyncratic reations to most films. If you didn't find "Neverland" and other movies as compelling as others have... oh, well. It's too bad that you didn't get as much enjoyment as you'd believed you would. But, in the cosmic sense, that's okay.

Really good performances throughout (except for the guy briefly shown as Elvis -- it was distracting to have someone who looked and sounded nothing like Elvis playing Elvis. Why would they do that?)

I really enjoyed this movie and was very sad when it was over. First off, the film is absolutely beautiful when they are on Brokeback Mountain. The scenary is gorgeous.

The characters of Jack and Ennis are very complex and such opposites in who they are and how accepting they are of this relationship.

Heath Ledger gives an outstanding performance and Jake Galleyahoweveryouspellit is almost too pretty to be called handsome. Both their performances are excellent but Ledger gives a gut wrenching protrayal of Ennis.

The real standouts in the movie are played by the wives. Their reactions, grief and love is so intense and right on the mark in my opinion.

I know that some gay men will probably have a problem with some parts of the film. Not to give to much away, I'll wait for their reviews.

It's not perfect, it's not how every relationship is but I think it was an important story to be shared.

Two thumbs up from Lisann22 and her mama.

I liked it, laughed at parts and generally enjoyed it. We had a LAUGHER in the audience, so even if something wasn't that funny it was amusing to hear him :) The robbery parts just bothered me though.

    The Santa Claus
    The Santa Claus 2
    Home Alone
    The Christmas Story

Love them all. I now have successfully fallen asleep at one point through every Christmas movie we have watched this year. Also, Elf, Christmas Eve on Sesame Street and another one I can't even remember. Once I have seen a movie my brain goes on auto pilot and I zone. Rest of the family is throughly engaged over and over and over and over. Snooooore.

Chances are, I won't see this movie, so I was wondering if it's true or if my guys are just sour that they couldn't work on this feature.

Ursula - I can't say I had a hard time hearing any of the dialogue. I can think of one scene down by the river that my mom turned to me and asked what did he say.

Loved, loved, LOVED this movie! It was far better than I expected--stellar performances by everyone except Dermot Mulroney, whom I find to be kinda one-note in everything I've seen him in. It's worth noting that Sarah Jessica Parker really irritates me ordinarily, and I thought she was phenomenal in this film.

DDman- I don't get to actually work on or in the movies; I sort of work around them. I schedule ADR and Foley stages for the people who work in and on the movies. From time to time, I do get lucky and they need a female voice for ADR so I gladly go down to the stage for a laugh. My crews, though, have worked on pretty much a lot of stuff, for example, we held the score mix for King Kong. My guys have won Oscars for Chicago and Blackhawk Down. We also do TV shows, too. We are currently on Eight Below, Stranger Than Fiction, Little Miss Sunshine, and Final Destination 2.
