I was actually more captivated by the story of Pocahontas and John Rolfe than I was of the story of her and John Smith. Christian Bale gave a beautiful performance as Rolfe. Friday: X-Men: The Last Stand Pepsi at the theatre It was definitely better than I expected. I adored Kelsey Grammer as Hank McCoy/Beast. He was spot on! Last night: From Here to Eternity on TCM supper of Hamburger Helper Cheeseburger Macaroni I've been wanting to see this for forever, and even though I own it on DVD, I hadn't gotten around to watching it yet. It was excellent, and I could completely see why Frank Sinatra won the Oscar for his role. Just a heartbreaking film.

Let's hope with the change of management we will see high quality again. But then again, I liked Brother Bear, Atlantis and Treasure Planet.

Eric Bana was excellent. King Kong DVD Blockbusters I turned it off about 40 minutes into it. I'll try again tonight...

I knew I would love it, and I did---even more so than I thought I would. I guess cause I'm a bit older and more mature and worldly about such masterful films now (haha). But OMG, the beginning premise totally couldn't happen today...a girl gets the license plate of a man, calls the newspaper to find out the owner (okay so her dad owns the paper), buys his sister a birthday present, drives AN HOUR AND A HALF to a town she's never heard of JUST to give said present, finds out at the post office how to find out the sister's name, goes to the local schoolteacher and *gets* the little girl's name (!), then sneaks to their house and GOES INSIDE when it's empty and leaves the present there with a note and then leaves---!! This is not recommended behavior today! (this sounds like somethin' Eunice would do concerning Duke Reeves, for those who get it) Soooo not 2006 circumstances, lol. But OMG...Tippi Hedren's voice...I could listen to it aaaaaaall day...such a wonderful voice, I just love her dialect and enunciation. She's 75 and (like Mary Costa) still looks and sounds so youthful and vibrant. I was really glad to see her in the hour and a half (!) documentary about the film. Such a wonderful movie...I *loved* the playground scene with Tippi sitting there unaware of the crows while the kids are inside singing. And it really does put you in a thinking/ominous mood, which Hitch is so good at (after the film I heard birds twittering outside my apartment and was quite aware of 'em, lol). I'll love to watch this more!

And the drama kids all hung out. Those type of cliques?

But, I thought the "crazy" scenes were good and the fight with congress was really interesting. Cate Blanchett is just awesome but I think she's awesome in everything. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (We bought a 50" tv awhile ago and finally got around to a Star Wars marathon.) I think the love story just plain sucks and the young Anakin and the older Anakin are just crappy actors. LOL. Revenge of the Sith was definitely the best of the 3. Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope I didn't get to watch all of this because I had a meeting at Starbucks today. I've got to finish watching it so we can watch other two movies. I have never seen the last two movies all of the way through because I always fall asleep. LOL

It was a very predictable plot and outcome. Boring. Memoirs of a Geisha Blockbusters Nada BEAUTIFUL but I'm not sure I get the Oscar nomination. There have been a lot of other stronger movies telling this type of story. I enjoyed it but it was not Oscar material in my opinion. King Kong NetFlix Salsa n Chips I swear I got dizzy watching this movie the camera angles and cutting back and forth was worse that riding a roller coaster. I'm just not a Jack Black fan so he seemed to be playing the same ole role. Special effects were awesome, all the bugs grossed me out. It was good, maybe it needed to be seen in the theatre's vs. a 60". <shrug shoulders>
