Really, really good film - tells the story of the leadup to and attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese. One thing that struck me is that, IMHO, it was just out-and-out a comedy of errors on the part of the Americans leading up to it. Pity it happened, and pity we responded by nuking two cities, but I'm glad I watched this film - I actually leared some America history opf which I was previously unaware. Yeah, I kow Dec 7 is Pearl Harbor Day and I used to live on Oahu, so I've a passing familiarity with it, but this film really brought it home for me - especially what with showing it from both sides in what I consider a balanced view.

Raging Bull DVD Rental No snacks One of my all time favorite movies. I try not to watch this movie very often, so that it doesn't get ruined for me. It was good to see it for the first time in about 10 years. See ya in 2016! Munich DVD Rental No snacks I hadn't really followed much about this movie when it came out, so I thought it would be much more about the hostage incident at the 1972 Munich Olympics. It was surprisingly gory (well, surprising to me anyway). Not sure if I liked it or not, to be honest. And I'm not sure if it effectively made its point or not. Last Holiday DVD Rental No snacks I pretty much agree with what Lisann said -- I don't get why it received so many great reviews. I felt 10 steps ahead of every cliched character in the thing. I guess it's one of those movies where you have to suspend all logical thought right at the outset, because nothing from the real world exists in it -- except for the product placement by Food Network.

I liked it the first time I saw it, but not as much as I had expected, but I think I was under the weather at the time. I really enjoyed it much more this time around. The Frisco Kid own it on DVD Awesome, funny movie costarring a young Harrison Ford. I just love Gene Wilder! Today: White Heat own it on DVD It took me forever to get around to this one (it was one of my dad's favorites, but my folks wouldn't let me watch it when I was a kid), but I'm glad I did. It was a very gripping movie and an interesting character study of a disturbed gangster. Bringing Up Baby own it on DVD I hadn't watched this movie in years. I forgot how great it is. Katharine Hepburn just glows, and Cary Grant gives a fantastic hilarious performance (his second best, IMHO, after Arsenic & Old Lace).
