Also the "twists" were a bit half hearted, also one of them is a BIG plot hole and can be directly contradicted by something said earlier in the film. But still it's a decent thrill ride for halloween...

So I decided on Trial & Error to pick up this intriguing film called "The Evil Dead". I want my money back. It's so hokey, campy, tries-to-be-disgusting(whichIdon'tlikeanyway)-but-is-too-over-the-top, has bad acting, no interesting or intelligent plot...just *awful*. I've never taken back a DVD to exchange after I've opened it, but I'm gonna see if I can get rid of this one for a much-better choice. House of Usher TCM Halloween Night No repast The 1st of 3 Vincent Price scary movies I watched in a haunted tavern out of town where I was the lone guest overnight. This was a really good film with wonderful atmosphere, interesting plot devices, and a house you don't wanna mess with. Makes "Evil Dead" look like a bad junior high project (which frankly it looks like anyway...) The Abominable Dr. Phibes TCM Halloween Night No repast This is a fascinating plot, IMO. Vincent Price plays a doctor who is out for revenge on the team of doctors who did not save his wife. He is out to kill them one by one, and does so by utilizing the famed 10 Hebrew plagues from The Bible*. Price is *quite* creepy in this, and his executions are varied and interesting. A marvelous film. * (here are the plagues if you're curious:..........bats, boils, frogs, blood, hail, rats, beasts, locusts, death of first-born, and darkness) Diary of a Madman TCM Halloween Night Chess Pie (late night snack) Another Price gem. This has an interesting plot and also wonderfully atmospheric settings and moods. The special effects of the supernatural are done really well, and there is one scene in particular where Price sends shivers up your spine. All 3 Price ones highly recommended!
