I had never seen this before even though I have the DVD. I loved it, of course. Very funny.

On Christmas Day I got to see "A Christmas Story" many times. I can't think of a thing that I DIDN'T eat! lol

Zzzzzzzzzzz! Seriously, I LOVE Matt Damon but I feel he was miscast. The aged Angelina Jolie but did nothing to Matt Damon. It was hard to comprehend him the father of a son that age. It was just to long, too many scenes of him walking in the long hallways, down the cement walkway kinda stuff. Everyone's acting was fine, the story was fine but just did not meet my expectations of DeNiro directing and the actors that were cast.

Saw it earlier in the year, still laughed just as hard. LOL!

Ok, I knew it would be dumb, I knew it wasn't Oscar material but the stuff that was funny, was FUNNY. Mindless entertainment.

LOVED this movie, quirky little satire. Everyone did a great job.

Heartbreaking, just heartbreaking. I think Spike Lee did an excellent job with this. Lots of interviews from people covering all walks of life. I felt especially sorrowful due to my Native American background and work. Realizing that their culture, language and art is probably lost forever - it will never be the same. That is just devastating. Generations after generations will be affected by this disaster. So very sad.

I haven't read the book, so can't compare. It was enjoyable enough, but could have used more dialog and less "awesome" special effects. And the narration at the beginning was unnecessary and annoying.

The kids loved this one. I guess they're at the age where Laurel and Hardy are really funny.

I thought it made "Babes in Toyland" look like Shakespeare. There was a funny little monkey dressed up as Mickey Mouse. I guess there weren't the same kind of trademark laws back then.

Reminded me a lot of the corny Disney movies of the 1970s, but with better effects. Pretty darn predictable, by-the-numbers, giant, gaping plot holes but it's meant to be mainly for the kids. Definitely a 'wait for rental' for all but the youngest viewers.

    SPOILER-ISH COMMENT:

Early in the film, Larry is told to 'learn your history'. I thought this might mean there would be some interesting puzzle to figure out, some important clues to discover, all involving historic facts. As if. Instead, just lots of chasing and silliness. Oh well.

Ok, what don't I get? Meryl Streep was good and that's it. Nothing else. Plot - predictable and stupid. Characters - predictable and stupid. Man, this made me cranky. I was really looking forward to seeing this. The whole Simon Baker character and sleeping with him was just so pointless and wrong. Aye yi yi!

A must see for kids! Uplifting, good message about determination, compassion, school, self-confidence. A bit overacted in parts, some swearing but if you can overlook that it's a really feel good film for kids and adults alike.

I found it an enjoyable movie, but there were a couple of items that needed to be more tidily wrapped up, but weren't.
