None of the immortals or Olympians are listed as characters, so I guess there are no gods and goddesses in this one. However, since this is apparently based on a work that wasn't a mythological epic (i.e., chock full of gods and goddesses and such), I just might enjoy this one---because it wouldn't be "betraying" anything mythic. The main character's name though is King Leonidas---that's the name of the lion king in the animated soccer match of "Bedknobs & Broomsticks", heehee.
