Depressing because it's based on a true story. Watching it made me feel so angry and helpless. Not sure why I decided to watch it today other than I knew it would be a good movie and it was easy to access on cable.

I didn't like this movie so much that it actually makes me angry to think about it.

This is a so by the numbers in some ways, and so nonsensical in others. I don't know where to begin to hate it first. There's the script -- which has not a single laugh in it. No, really, not one.

There is also a major warning sign that we have a weak script here -- music that plays along to underscore whatever is happening on screen. If someone is walking on tip-toes, there's tip-toe music. If someone reacts to another character saying something, there's "purse your leaps and shake your head" music to accompany that. There is also generic "Friends" type music included to make a soundtrack CD.

Matt Damon look angry and lost throughout. He knows this movie sucks, you can see it in his eyes, and you can see him asking himself, "What would Ben Stiller do with this role?" I almost felt bad for him. There is a ridiculous tacked on chase scene, plot holes large enough to drive a truck through, Kate Hudson phones in a generic role, Michael Douglas shows the comic timing that made Streets of San Francisco a laugh riot, while Owen Wilson plays Owen Wilson unconvincingly.

This movie wants to be endearing. It wants to be liked. It wants to be your friend in the worst way. It gets the worst way part right.

Ah, yes..."Music to Purse Your Lips and Shake Your Head By". Good album.

One of those classic films that I never got around to watching until now. I've been recording a lot of TCM movies lately. It's amazing how much dialogue they packed into these movies! I have no idea how these actors were ever able to remember their line!

Very good. I haven't seen most of the other Oscar nominees, but I hope it does well. Too bad it didn't get more acting nominations.

I had never even heard of this movie before by our friends really wanted to see it so we did. I really, really liked it. In fact, now that I'm going through it again in my head I have to say I *loved* it. lol. Good ending. Original movie. I would totally see it again and recommend it, especially to those who like mystery, magic, and the supernatural. Fascinating story.
