There are some pacing issues, which meant the kids got bored occassionally, but overall we all enjoyed it. It was nice to see quite an original fantasy/sci fi. It has been quite a while.

The three friends are total and complete NERDS. [yes, you know that] I was a nerd in high school, a band geek, not in the 'in' crown. But compared to these guys, I was the captain of the football team. And the fact, that we're supposed to think that this chubby, curly-headed guy is getting all this action from girls, is ridiculous. He's so revolting, on so many levels, that no girl is going to like him. Let alone fall for his 'charm' I like comedies. 'Tommy Boy' is one of my favorite movies of all time. Chris Farley at Tommy Callahan is chubby and crazy -- but he's also sweet and cares about his life. 'Pretty in Pink' has a whacked out sense of humor to it. Funny, and over-the-top, but also real. What am I missing on 'Superbad'?

My personal favorite "wikiality" is on it as well as the Green Screen challenge. I reccomend this movie to anyone who is a fan of Colbert.

In a few words...what a fun and delightful picture. I'm sure glad I have the DVD. I also enjoyed the short feature at the beginning "Lifted". Sometimes we need to be allowed to make mistakes in order to succeed in the end. Now, as for a non-Disney film, I was watching Turner Classic Movies a few weeks ago and the were celebrating the great Joan Crawford. I had never seen "Mildred Pirece", the film she won her one and only Oscar for. Wow, what a great film. I remember many years ago (wer're talking late '60s) seeing Carol Burnett do a spoof on this film when she had her varitey show and was in hysterics. Well, this past week Barnes and Noble had a great DVD sale so happily "Mildred Pierce" is now in my collection along with a few others. Next up "Cars"...yep, I own the DVD, but have never watched it! Love this thread!
