Mary-Louise Parker was very good in her part but that also seemed to not need so much screen time for the point of the film. And whatever happened to Joe Pit. He seemed like one of the most real people in the story whether or not you liked who he was or not. I can say that some of the individual scenes were extremely powerful and I really loved parts of it but over all it just ended up being a non event for me. I can appreciate not saying what you want to say in a movie directly but beating around the bush to this extent was just maddening to me. I know that some movies can be seen in different ways. It is like back in the late 80's when those psychadelic pieces of art came out and if you stared at them for a long time, your eyes would refocus and a 3D pattern would emerge. My eye's never focused on the hidden information here.
