It's pretty much your typical 80's teen comedy starring Tom Cruise & Jackie Earle Haley as high schoolers who go to Tijuana to lose their virginity. This was Tom's first starring role, but it's Jackie who steals the show as the oversexed Dave. The whole movie is worth it just for a scene of him trying to get Spanish fly in a Mexican pharmacy. If you like 80's comedies, get a hold of this one!

It HAS to be seen in 3D (a lot of gags depend on it), and the Imax experience makes it all the better. The plot is good to very good, but not great. The visuals more than make up for it. Visually this is as good or better than anything Pixar has done - they just don't quite match Pixar for story telling ability. After seeing this, I'm sure we'll be seeing a whole lot of 3D movies from now on. One last thing, this is the first Dreamworks animated movie I've seen since Shrek that didn't go for a pile of fart jokes and toilet humor. That was a nice change.

All the performances were very strong (neat to see a very young Daniel Stern), and the ending made me tear up a bit. Good stuff!

Seriously though, I thought this would be in the same vein as Superbad (same producers/writers, etc.), as the trailers make it seem like one of those comedies. It was in a way, albeit more serious. There are some funny moments, mostly from SNL cast members Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig. Ryan Reynolds and "Bella" from Twilight also star...
