(Evening was somewhat spoiled by trouble getting home, but that's not the movie's fault.)

For those who haven't seen it, it's a Disney "comedy" from the 1970's about a mule that kicks field goals. And check out the "all star" cast: Ed Asner, Don Knotts, Bob Crane, Tom Bosley, Tim Conway, Harold Gould, Dick Van Patten, Dick Butkus, and Johnny Unitas.

It's my week for giant fighting robots. I'll be taking Kyle to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen on Saturday. I'm not expecting a good plot, story or good acting. But I AM expecting good SFX and lot's of giant robot carnage! I don't think I'll be disappointed, lol.

With Borat there was kind a sweetness to the character even though he was duping people. But you kind of liked him. Here it just comes across as mean spirited and worst of all for a comedy terribly unfunny. D- only reason why it isn't an F is because there was one scene that did elicit a chuckle.

The whole thing has the feel that the screenplay was written on an etch a sketch. The plot sort of lazily wanders from one scene to the next without even the slightest shred of logic and the movie has plot holes you can drive a truck through (If Megan Fox had the shard thingery, why didnt they use that to revive Optimus Prime in the first place instead of going after the matrix of mcguffin?) Now I know what to expect when going to a big dumb action movie and I turn off my brain accordigly. But if I shut it off and I still find it unbelivably stupid I just think theres too many problems to name. So yeah, needless to say, a solid... F Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Theatre- Midnight Showing. Definitly my favorite of the Potter series so far, I really liked that it mostly stuck with the book without cutting anything too crucial, while also existing as its own movie. I loved the romantic subplot with the teens and the young lady playing Lavender was hillarious with all her "Won-Wons". All the tweaks to the storyline were great, particularly the attack on the Burrow, spicing up which is mostly a talky plot with a good action sequence, and anything that gives Helena Bonham Carter more screentime is A-ok with me! A big ol A from me, and I eagerly await Deathly Hallows Part 1 next November!

I was really surprised by some of the performances; Tom Felton blew me away as Draco. He's really come a long way. I'm probably going to go see it again this weekend. Sunday: The Big Bus own it on DVD I haven't watched this film since I was a kid, but it was still pretty much as funny as I remember. Yesterday: 300 own it on DVD Good action movie. Kind of neat to see a couple of familiar Watchmen faces in it (the boy who played young Leonidas also played young Rorschach; he's director Zack Snyder's son. And the other is the fellow who played Hollis Mason in Watchmen). Now I need to get around to reading the graphic novel it's based on.
