As much as I loved the theatrical release, this is a far superior film. Laurie/Silk Spectre II's character was really fleshed out well, and I found myself liking her more. We get to see more of the Comedian's dark side. Best of all, though, are the additional scenes of Rorschach. Jackie Earle Haley shows again how he is in a class by himself. He is just utterly amazing, and he breaks my heart every time I watch the film (of special note is the extra footage of his interview with Dr. Long in prison; I learned over the weekend from the Comic Con reports that Jackie was quite sick when they filmed that scene, and it just makes the performance all the more amazing). Okay, enough gushing on Watchmen. Last night: Maniac Cop 3: Badge of Silence own it on DVD I watched this while chatting with some of my fellow Jackie fans on Skype, and we had a blast! The film, unfortunately, is quite horrible. The plot is virtually non-existant, there is far too many scenes of people walking around, the dialogue is painful at times, and there are so many insane, over the top explosions. Jackie's the best thing in the film, and I'm so glad this didn't end up being his last film. He deserves better than for his last film to literally end on the sound of a toilet flushing. If you want to see a crazy B-movie, Maniac Cop 3 is for you. Be sure to watch it with friends, though. It's a lot of fun that way, MST3King your way through it. You WILL believe a zombie cop can drive a car while on fire!

I loved the fact that the line between hero and villian is not a matter of black and white as in so many other comic book adaptations.

The young actors have come a long way and were fabulous in their roles. The woman who played Narcissa was not as desperate as I read the character to be in the book.

Funny People is an overly important drama (The comedy here is quite light and most of it is jammed together in the trailers) The rest of the film is about Sandlers character dying of a rare blood disease and well... thats about it. His character is so overhwelmingly unlikable its hard to care much about his journey coming to terms with his death, and his protege played by Seth Rogan is so underdeveloped that going through the story from his point of view is difficult. Also Rogan and Sandler have no comedic chemestry together at all and most of their scenes together come off as awkward and forced. Most of the movie has almost a pointless feel. Leslie Mann is great as always but has little to do in the movie than be maniplulated by Sandlers complete bas**** of a character. Oddly enough though, it's difficult for me to pan the movie outright, and I wouldnt discourage anyone from seeing it that was initially interested. But the movie has a lot of problems and a lot of them stem from Sandlers outward/self destructive character and its difficult to derive much entertainment watching for 2 and a half hours watching him doing everything he can to destroy his own and others lives.
