Picked this up in a thrift shop. A lot of Disney comedies from the 70's are "so bad they're good," but I actually enjoyed this one.

Fun late '70s flick, my roomy and I were enjoying a look back at the styles and cars of our youth. Lilly Tomlin was fun playing 2 characters with an Ernestine cameo.

Awesome, awesome movie. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time, and I desperately want to see it again. Had to cover my eyes a little at some of the gore, but it even made me laugh.

    Where the Wild Things Are
    Water

It was good, but not quite as good as I was expecting. I'm going to have to see it a second time to make a balanced decision because I was distracted by needing to hit the bathroom (I was trapped in the back row & had to wait till it was over), and there was a little kid that kept asking, "Daddy, why did he do that? Daddy, what's going on?" literally every five minutes, which was really annoying and distracting (I don't blame the kid, just the danged dad). It did hit me on an emotional level; I bawled for like the last 10 minutes of the movie. It just didn't completely bowl me over.

    Last night:
    MST3K: Laserblast
    Netflix Instant

Sooooo funny. This is now one of my all-time favorite MST3K films.

Good, but not great. Certainly not worth all the hype. The plot was the same basic cliched haunted house movie, just with a first person twist. Clearly trying to be a new Blair Witch Project, but inferior to that film in every way.

BTW, in case you don't know what they are, Rifftrax are audio files you can synch up with your movie. They're done by the same guys who did Mystery Science Theater 3000, and they're just as awesome. They sometimes have special guests sit in, like when they had Weird Al for Jurassic Park and Neil Patrick Harris for Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

We loved this movie. It was marketed poorly, imo, because the previews made it look awful. I mean, it's a chickflick for sure, but it also was really goofy. My husband, my brother AND my mom all sat here and laughed like crazy. There aren't very many movies where we can do that. My mom is easily offended and the rest of us are pretty dark so if one movie keeps us laughing, that's just really rare.

I'm trying to work through all these movies I have but have never watched. One of my friends recently watched this one and liked it, and I've been getting into Tim Roth, so I popped it in last night. I really loved it. Hamlet is my favorite Shakespeare play, and seeing it from these two characters' prospectives was very interesting. Given the material, it was dark at times, but there was also a lot of comedy (and almost a Who's On First routine in one scene). Richard Dreyfuss was quite good as the Player, and both Tim Roth & Gary Oldman were excellent as R & G. If you enjoy dark comedy or Hamlet, give this one a shot.

Still a beautiful and wonderful movie. It's definitely one of my favorite Burton movies.

I'm not sure how I made it this long without watching these films, but I'm making up for it now. I've never been a huge horror fan, but I'm starting to move in that direction, and I completely loved this movie. I started out thinking, "Oh, this isn't so scary!" but the last 45 minutes or so had me jumping a lot (and clinging to my cat, but let's not go there).

I'm watching the rest of the series today, along with some other spooky movies, so I'll be back later. :)

WOW. GO SEE THIS FILM if you have any desire to be entertained. I'm not a mega MJ fan, but WOW - I totally loved this. Just incredible. I'll be seeing it again sometime soon with a friend who's a MASSIVE MJ fan. That should be even more fun than it was seeing it with a not-so-massive fan. :)
