This is an omnibus movie with three directors telling stories set in modern Tokyo. Michel Gondry adapted a graphic novel about a couple moving into NYC and as a result the story felt only superficially related to Tokyo. Leos Carax had a surreal piece about a foreigner living underneath the sewers and terrorizing Tokyoites... but my favorite piece was by the South Korean director Bong Jooh-ho was also directed the Godzilla like film "The Host."

His film dealt with a shutaway who, after 10 years, finds a reason to leave his home. This felt like it was the closest to getting some sort of read of modern Japan, and the cinematography, editing, music, script and acting were all very tight and well executed.

laughed MUCH more than I thought I would. Turned out to be very predictable with how it ended, but at least we got a LOT of laugh-out-loud moments on our way there. :)

    The Kids are All Right
    Redbox DVD

I watched this in two shifts since it was yesterday and I had a busy day planned, but wanted to get it back by the deadline to avoid spending another buck. So, anyway, this was a REALLY good movie. I dig Annette Bening and Julianne Moore, and the rest of the cast was quite good as well. Oh, and the dude - wow, HOTTIE! hehe

    Tron: Legacy
    Alamo Drafthouse
pizza and a Coke (Mike had an Italian soda and chicken strips)

Ok, so, pardon the blasphemy, but while I LOVED the first 60-70 minutes, the last twenty felt like two hours to me. It was VERY slow-moving at the end. As far as the CGI Jeff Bridges - it definitely looked like him, but it made me wish we were about 5 years ahead of where we are now technologically so he could have looked 100% real. Overall, I give this movie a 7.5/10 - the extra .5 is because I'm a Disney fan.

This movie cracks me up. It's become an annual tradition to watch it first while I wrap presents.

Really great cast in this film - not just crazy TC, but Terence Stamp, Bill Nighy, Kenneth Branagh, Eddie Izzard... great cast, and a darn good movie.

Wow. Just wow. No wonder this film won Best Picture. What an amazing piece of work. And it just floors me to know that heroes like Sgt. Will James likely exist.

I thought it was beautifully done, gorgeous shots, visually appealing & thought the movie was good overall. My oldest is a HUGE Narnia fan & has seen it 4 times & said it was best in 3D.

wow...so, the vignettes showing things that happened in the lives of Ramirez, Dahmer, and Gein were interesting, but the plot of this movie was just horrid. And the ending just terrible. Don't waste your time on this.
