I LOVED this movie! Even my non-sports-loving boyfriend dug it. Though, truth be told, he said it felt a bit slow at times. I didn't get that myself, but I may just be more tolerant since it's a sports movie, even if the 'sport' is baseball.

I also remember the sixties very clearly and remembered reading about formal segregation and discrimination in the south. Personally I had little direct experience with it... in the Twin Cities suburb where I lived we had exactly ONE black kid in a High School with 2,500 students. He was very good looking, extremely intelligent and treated like something of a rock-star by the other students.

Although there was (and is) no formal segregation in the Twin Cities, it remains one of the most segregated large cities in America.

Very enjoyable movie. We had planned to see The Rum Diaries, but VERY mediocre reviews lead us to try the Puss. It was probably the best we could do this weekend. Mike & Ike was a disappointment... don't know what I expected, but it was other than what I got!

LOVED it! All the classic zombie movie tropes with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost at their comedic best.
