Not a clue why they chose the lesser 1.85:1 frame .. rather than the more panoramic - 2.35:1 ....

All in all ... an entertaining film ... Interesting to see the Marvel characters are not exactly 'perfect' friends from the start ;) What happens in order to become friends ... is half the fun in the movie.

And don't be stupid folks .. and walk out the SECOND the end credits start rolling ... or you WILL MISS A CRITICAL SCENE ... that no doubt leads to future sequels!

I had been avoiding this because Mickey Rourke started creeping me out in the late 80s and truth be told he hasn't gotten any prettier in the intervening decades *shudder*, but it was an excellent movie and Rourke was an effective villain.

We hope to catch The Incredible Hulk and Captain America on the DVR in the next few days. I'm excited about CA because I've heard good things but missed it in theaters. I'm really only wanting to see Hulk for whatever Avengers teasers there might be, especially since they'll be yet another actor playing Bruce Banner (the third in ten years).

I took my 8 year old niece and we loved it. When I was putting on my glasses to watch the movie she said "oh, you actually want to see this movie?" and I said I loved her dearly but I'd never sit through a movie I didn't want to see just for her!

Wow, this movie was so badly directed I'm surprised it was directed by someone who went on to win an Oscar. I get that he was going for a comic book feel with the paneled screen, but many of his other choices left us with boring scenes with poor pacing or frenetic scenes that were confusing and hard to follow. Ironically in spite of poor character development, the acting was top notch. This cast was far to good for this movie.
