I took two of my kids to a nearby science center that has a planetarium and an Imax. The planetarium included a lecture and tour of our solar system. Then, we saw the film, Oceans: Our Blue Planet. It was a little dull.......

Last night we watch "Defending Your Life". We had never seen it and my sister insisted. We had cupcakes and wine.

The Magnificent Seven - What a treat that was to watch one of the best westerns ever created. The all star cast lead by Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen were amazing. The movie had my smiling the entire time. I had to explain the movie to my youngest in terms of A Bugs Life.

Hereditary - Super creepy movie worth seeing once, but not one that deserves a repeat. Best with wine. ;)

First Man. Very good. Even though I knew how all Armstrong's major flight milestones turned out (the Gemini 8 malfunction, the Apollo 11 launch, the program alarms during the landing approach, the boulder field and its resulting need to maneuver laterally with only seconds of fuel left), they still had me on the edge of my seat, just as Ron Howard's Apollo 13 had me on the edge of my seat, years ago, in spite of having lived through that mission in real life.

Before that, my usual Halloween double feature, Dracula: Dead and Loving It, and Young Frankenstein, on DVD. Halloween with Mel Brooks.

Before that, I chased Incredibles 2 all the way to Norwalk (California, not Connecticut), and chased Solo all the way to Pasadena (California, not Texas), because I hadn't found the time to see them when they were easy to get to.

It was a pretty decent techno/horror flick. It was like I was watching a computer screen for the whole movie the way that it was filmed. I liked it, and would watch it again if there wasn't anything else on.

We went to the theatre last night and saw Bohemian Rhapsody. Popcorn and Junior Mints were involved. It was an interesting movie. The guys that portrayed Freddie and Brian looked amazingly similar. Good music and effects. It was funny watching Mike Meyers in the movie playing the part of a record exec.

Watched it on the plane ride to DLR last week. LOVED it!! If you haven't seen it yet...give it a shot. It's a nice "feel good" kind of movie.

Regal cinemas - Clint Eastwood does it again!! Wonderful movie. I wasn't too keen on seeing it originally, but I'm glad that I went.

Velvet Buzzsaw (Netflix) - Can't really tell you what it's about, but it wasn't a complete waste of time. It's always nice to look at Jake Gyllenhaal. ;)

College homework for my daughter included watching Alfred Hitchcock's, "Vertigo". I don't remember ever watching the whole movie. And now I know why. Maybe it was the wine...maybe it was too late at night....maybe I'm just getting old. But, I had to fight to stay awake during the last half. It just went on and on and on.

I mean, what kind of Jaws movie doesn't show people being eaten by sharks. Super Boring.

    1. My son finally talked me into watching, "John Wick," starring Keanu Reeves. I guess they've made 3 chapters of this movie with the last one due out probably this year sometime.
    2. I finished off the last of the Girl Scout Do-Si-Dos.
    3. Lots of action. I give it a thumbs up. Cookies were good too.

We did the digital download of, "At Eternity's Gate." It stars Willem Defoe as Vincent Van Gogh. He does an excellent job. I think the movie gets mixed reviews. You will see the world of Van Gogh as he might have experienced it. So, there are quiet moments of walking about, looking at scenery, objects and people...and how he might have been inspired to paint them. It's definitely a glass of wine on a quiet evening kind of movie.
