Okay, go ahead, you can laugh. LOL. I need to go in my queue and bump up the order so I can get to some more of the ones you've recommended sooner rather than later. Then maybe I'll post what I thought in the What Movie Did You Just See thread.

This week we got "You Can't Take it With You" (which is a personal favorite of mine that I have seen in like 10 years) and Zathura (which the kids begged me for) and 50 First Dates (which I listed after someone on LP mentioned they liked it but now I can't remember who.)

Coming up next in my queue are: 1) The Great Muppet Caper; 2) Monty Python and The Holy Grail and; 3) The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill (one of your recs).

I do totally laugh now when I look at the rest of my queue because after you guys mentioned they had tv shows I went and found all my favorites from when I was a kid and so my queue looks like an 8 year old put it together. LOL! Well an 8 year old from the 70's/early 80's anyway. ;P

Oh, and Rebekah - have the tv series you liked already been mentioned here? If not, I'd be open to suggestions. :)

I am working on seeing the rest but Christmas calls right now which leads me to why I'm bumping this topic....

I was hoping to load up on some Christmas movies this weekend. Anybody willing to give me some recs on that?

    I have seen (and love)

    A Christmas Story
    It's A Wonderful Life
    Elf
    How the Grinch Stole Christmas

that's all I can really think of right now.

Thanks in advance you guys. I always appreciate hearing what you like and stuff. :)

I tend not to think of it as a Christmas movie as they perform for all seasons throughout the year, but IIRC it was the movie for which Irving Berlin wrote the song White Christmas?

A good follow-up to watching "Scrooge" is with Bill Murray's "Scrooged." It's an entertaining take on the classic tale.

Anyway, if you haven't seen it, you should check out "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians." It's in the so-bad-it's-good category.

Somebody has to mention "Nightmare Before Christmas," so I will. I'm also a sucker for "Miracle on 34th Street." "A Wish for Wings That Work" is a fun short featuring Opus the penguin. There are also a couple of collections of Disney Christmas cartoons. And if you haven't seen it, there's a hilarious short called "A Christmas Caper" on the Madagascar DVD.

Cute show, my sister owns season 1 and 2 and I am in the process of watching them. Any show that says "would you describe it as Hitchockian?" is great in my book.
I also love Buffy and Firefly. I am a fan of dark shows with campy humor.
