I can't understand people (and there are many) who say they're fans and go to WDW annually or multiple times, yet have never set foot in DL and would sooner be waterboarded then try a resort out of the USA or even taking a DCL vacation.

I know it's that chocolate ice cream argument ...

And all most of them do is complain all the time.
City Hall constantly has a line from what I hear.
They want changes, but if a change is rumored they clamor "Leave it alone!"
To them Disneyland is a museum. Never to change. Runs right in the face of what Walt Disney said.

Details in the right places are right, and things should be kept up. But even in the "good old days" there were always things that needed painted and more.
Fans are nice, but the overly obsessive ones should step back for a minute and ask themselves if they are loving the Disney parks to death?

So, because of all those idiotic fanbois in the minority, WDW (and DL) should suffer? Who says that DL listens to them, anyway? They've had quite a few changes over there...

...some that would never fly over here, I might add.

In the "good ole days" that "more" still existed, but it was certainly a lot less to be fixed. That should have NEVER changed over time for Disney. Never.

All this as well as 2 Disney parks, a downtown district, the largest shopping mall in Europe, a Disney PGA Golf Course etc.

Ya, really hard to fill 2 weeks. DLP can fill nearly a week of it within a smaller area than WDW. Provins in 35 minutes, Paris 40, Champagne area - Rheims/Epernay 70 minutes.

Give something new a try, you might like it (they also have better weather, at least in California).

Universal Studios Hollywood is a real studios, and although there are rides and attractions, the Tram tour is a couple of hours long on real sets!

Seaworld San Diego is a proper research and rescue facility on the real coast (not inland)

San Diego zoo has the larges collection of plants and animals in the world, including Pandas (though thankfully edinburgh will soon have Pandas too).

The Wild Animal Park is also amazing

For coasters, Magic Mountain is often the record holder. Plus there is an excellent woodie in San Diego too. Knott's Berry Farm is near Disneyland and there is nothing like it in Florida.

Then add the real culture of San Diego, LA and even more importantly, San Francisco. Mix in the natural beauty of Mountains, Desert (Tatooine), Big Trees (Endor) and the coast. as well as every fruit on earth grown in California.

Add in less humidity, no flying cockroaches or gators.

It is on as a winning option.

I give you a hard time Peter because I suspect you would love DL and DLP. And yet you keep going back to WDW.

I would like to try the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but for me, Asia is calling my name.

I seriously can't think of one thing I'd like to see or do in Orlando besides WDW, and yes I'm aware of Islands of Adventure. I'd take the city of Paris any day over Orlando.

If you factor in Paris and the wider area then there's a ton of really cool stuff on offer. I haven't been to Parc Asterix in years, but it's a great park with some cool attractions and the staff there were incredibly friendly and helpful in overcoming any language problems, probably moreso than some DLP CMs. We really should do it again sometime instead of treating it as the marker that we're getting close to DLP!!!

    Exactly.

The self-described City Beautiful is largely a third world hole ... and culturally and historically and so many other ways you can't compare it to Paris (or Hong Kong, Tokyo or even Anaheim/LA).

O-Town was a nice small friendly cow and citrus town until the 1980s when EPCOT started a growth boom that has never ended and has resulted in lots of crime, poverty, overdevelopment, traffic and any other ills you can think of when you talk about a place where most people don't have a real education and the average person makes $8-12 an hour working in the service sector.

What's worse though is that some Disney fans just won't open their eyes and see that every other resort is run better.

But, hey, do you know that you can now buy a WDW tee with a turkey leg on it? (Seriously!)
