IT WASNT MY POINT!!!!!!!!!

But there is no way that I would stand around naked, just hanging out, chit-chatting with the people around me. I'd at least put on my underwear before making eye contact with anyone. ;-)

I never said I was embarressed because she was a large woman, or because of her age, I said I felt that way because of her NAKEDNESS. I hope you see that now too jdub, not sure if post 40 was aimed at me or not. I feel like I am grovelling now anyway. So will stop going over the same points.

That does help clarify your original post. I wonder if this is more an issue for women than for men? Even when I went to high school -- a million years ago -- the boys' locker room was a typical, stark open room with lockers, benches, and a big communal shower. The girls' room was outfitted with private showers and changing areas. Which seems counter-intuitive to me in a couple ways. In general, women seem more comfortable sharing personal things with each other than men do. Also, uh... it seems to me that it's men who reveal more of their unseen/unknown selves when they get naked. I mean, unless a woman wears something artificial in her bra, you pretty much have an idea what to expect when she gets naked, no? I think it's a good thing for people to see other naked people in real life. There is so much normal variation on so many parts of our bodies. Witnessing that helps us feel comfortable our own differences. How else would we learn about this natural fact? By seeing naked people only in magizines and movies? As IF they respresent a true cross-section of real bodies! I'm fairly modest myself. I use clothing to hide imperfections. Still, I find it sad that there's such a high level of discomfort with our own bodies and with others'.

For some reason it's just different.<< Yea it's just different in that a locker room is intended for being naked while changing whereas a bench in a crowded mall is not intended for people to expose themselves - even if they are nursing. There are showers there for a reason - unless you shower clothed....? This is too funny. I'm wrong and some sort of monster because I expect a woman in a crowded mall to try to cover herself while breastfeeding where it is not expected to see exposed breasts but it's a tragedy when someone changes...in a changing room? Why don't you "just move" out of the CHANGING room if you don't expect to see someone CHANGING? Geez....

I too get uncomfortable sometimes when in a locker room when a completely nude person in the middle of changing tries to converse with me....or worse start grunting as they put their clothes on. However, it is to be expected in them as that's what they're there for. It can be quite awkward though.

It's still an awful run on sentence but atleast it's now a complete thought.

I wonder why we do that? got me pondering now.
