First of all, riding Alice isn't quite the dangerous thing that driving is, nor is there a risk to others if I employ bad behavior. Second, many studies have shown that stoned drivers are far more careful than even sober drivers, and WAY more careful than drunk ones.

A lot of people tend to lump pot in there with alcohol, and the 2 couldn't be further dissimilar. If a couple guys want to get high and add to their Disneyland buzz, more power to 'em. They're hurting NO ONE. If your kids are so sheltered that they've never seen such behavior, just tell the truth - that those guys are smoking pot, and I better never catch you doing that, and other parent-y cliche's.

There may be some truth to the assertion that the only reason marijuana is illegal is because certain very powerful lobbyists wanted it suppressed for their clients' financial gain.

And I don't want anyone smoking anything on MY Alice (or any other attraction)... I would have told them to knock that off - in not so nice a manner.

Oh I get it...we should only be proactive if someone gets hurt... and not being in control on one's actions and behavior...hey that's cool...oh who have thought! Yea, everyone should go to DL to expose their kids to that! Heck yea! Walt would be so proud...right? OMG!!!
I was under the understanding the DL was a FAMILY PARK not a haven for stoners!Look, if someone wants to do that great...good for them...I just don't care to be exposed to someone acting like a complete moron...if I wanted to see that, I'd visit Capitol Hill not DL!

neither of them is appropriate in Disneyland. You are assuming no injury will result... medical records easily demonstrate the failure of that concept. I grew up in the 60's and ask the same questions about the illegality. But that is not the issue here.
Smoking pot at Disney, reminds me of the crowd I worked with, long week ends at the river (boating), gallons and gallons of alcohol (over haring planning sessions, I dubbed it "leave your liver on the river"), observation, if you need to get drunk to enjoy your friends, they are falling short as a satisfying experience. Someone needs to "get a buzz on" at Disneyland?
There is a time and place for everything and Disneyland is neither.
It goes back to the respect issue being discussed on the texting topic, narcissism rather than having some thought for others, particularly the children present.
I'm still amazed they can use a lighter in an attraction and not draw the attention of security, picturing a Michael Crichton kind of thing where the lighter drops on the track, it's crushed under the wheels of the caterpillar, the spark from the flint igniting the fluid...
...the river friends, eventually a friend of theirs, drunk, ran his boat over another boat and decapitated two parents (mother, father from different families), in the presence of their children. They all thought it was very unfair for the families to make such a fuss, "how do you think he feels" I'm still appalled, but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

Maybe not sloppy drunks. But someone with a pleasant buzz? I don't think it's all that inappropriate.

They have their smoking area so they should smoke there. And if anyone is smoking inside a ride that is illegal. In CA there is NO smoking inside any building except residential areas. You are not even allowed to smoke in your car if you have anyone under the age of 18 in your car. If I had my little brother with me, I would ask that person if they could smoke in the smoking area.
