I wouldn´t mind wearing the ears and the t-shirts but DH doesn´t share my Disney-freakness, sad to say! :( And I think I´d be a little out of place if I were the only one wearing them! LOL (I´m picturing myself)

true confession time...when I was younger I thought I was too cool to wear ears. I finally broke down in April 2005 and bought the newly released 50th Anniversary ones. I really didn't know just how much they meant to me until they were eaten by the Alice in Wonderland ride at the very end of the day. (you haven't seen pouting until you've seen a 49 year old man do it) Disney was great and replaced them free of charge but that little incident made me re-evaluate my attitude towards ears and I realized that I had wasted many years of ears that could never be recovered. (I may have over-compensated since then.) Please don't let Pirate Prince repeat my mistake. He should wear ears proudly, both in the park and someday as a Mickey groom.

So, I'm not sure that Disneyland would know about it, but they might. It would be pretty hard to get such a large group in too. It's possible one or two people could get in dressed as the "human" characters, but a big group would most likely draw too much attention, and be a great big "NO".

Now, if your friends were to wear clothes only approximating the look, which were clearly streetwear, they might be able to enter. The key is in what constitutes a costume. Any clothing that compromises the experience of other guests is the issue.

Wedding attire does not count as costumes-- it counts as clothing that would detract from the experience of the other guests. An exception to this is kids in prom clothes. I have often seen kids in formals. But their formals are clearly something that could, conceivably, be worn in public. A wedding dress is a different thing.

It is also not just Disney costumes that are turned away. Other costumed folks have actually gotten into the park, and have been asked to leave.

Every Christmas, at least one jolly, white-bearded guest has come up with the bright idea to dress up as Santa and visit the happiest place on earth. They are politely refused admission. There is one regular who simply shows up in a red pullover, black pants and boots. Since that is streetwear, he is allowed admission. But Security keeps a close watch, and asks him to leave if he starts inviting kids to sit in his lap for a chat.

Not long after Captain EO opened, a Michael Jackson impersonator showed up in Tomorrowland. He chose what was (for the 89s) a "costume" that could have been seen on the street. But when he began break dancing, he was asked to leave.

There was also a man who dressed as Lincoln and would hang around the Opera House. Apparently he accessorized his streetware with a few 19th century items. Obviously, he, too, was asked to leave and return later, sans stovepipe hat.

If your friends really, really want to enjoy a Disney park in costume, I would encourage them to attend an officially sanctioned Halloween Party. It's a lot of fun, and everyone is in costume, so the guest experience is enhanced rather than compromised.

Right now there is a way to get married inside Disneyland, but it is subject to severe restrictions. There is a specific area for the wedding, your guest list is quite limited, and the fee is quite steep.

Oh, and you have to be Japanese. It's booked through a Japanese company.

(Unless you want to get married when the Park is closed. Then your sole limitation is pretty much budget!)

I think I´m going to start NOW on trying to convince DH to wear the t-shirt and the ears, I´ve got to start to be a bit more realistic!

    Fact or myth?
