Last night it snowed (just a tiny bit though, we are are still hoping for more) so I might go for a wintery walk. I might also go to Michaels to find some things for the birthday party we have coming up =)

There was one of those Casino Night deals and the poker dealer actually thought my kid was my date, complementary and creepy in one assumption. We had fun and the kid had a pretty healthy meal from the buffet of salmon and broccoli, he kept going back for more go figure. I plan on spending some of my weekend organizing my food storage containers, but I've been planning on doing that for maybe two months so we'll see if I get motivated for that. Other than that, I think the rest of my weekend will have laundry, TV and napping.

We decided to take the kids into London for a company Christmas party and to help bring their projects in school to life. We first headed to the Victoria and Albert museum (arts and crafts museum). We went because Jessica is studying houses, so we explored the architecture and furniture displays. We had a fantastic lunch in the arts and crafts styled rooms and enjoyed a live classical piano performance as we dined. I loved the theatre section, and was surprised to see the scar and nala costumes from the Lion King in there. Wonderful! We also enjoyed the Annie Lennox exhibition. The casts of Michelangelo's David and architectural adornment were great too, as were the Rodin sculptures. In the ceramic area, there was an interesting Chinese artist on display. He put a Song Dynasty (3000 years old) in a Jim bean bottle. And he painted the coca cola logo on a 5000 year old vase. Sacrilege if you ask me, but it actually increased the value of the vase. We then headed across the street to the Natural History Museum for Mikey's project on Mountains and Volcanos. We had a cup of coffee and cake as a rest and then headed into the geology section where we explored tectonic plates and erosion, earthquakes (Jessica was freaked out by the earthquake simulator in a Japanese store) and volcanoes. We then quickly went to see the stuffed DoDos before heading to see the dinosaurs. Before going, Jessica has said how she wants to be a paleontologist when she grows up. Ironically, the size and scale of the real dinosaurs (and the audio animatronic t Rex) scared here. Sadly the museum closed with about 10% explored, so a good excuse to return in the future. We then hailed a cab and went to Benihana's in Chelsea. We had a fantastic meal which we all enjoyed. The chef was fantastic and funny ,and the food was excellent, though pricey. We then managed to get the 9:30 train home with exhausted kids and got them into bed for 11:30. Yesterday was a lazy day of playing games and watching movies and then I made my 177 mile commute after the kids went to bed. http://m.facebook.com/?_rdr#!/dloydhearn?v=photos&album=a.10150474865064998.373559.744599997&cps&__user=744599997
