We were supposed to be with my 15 year old brother at the hospital (he is having both his legs rebuilt) and then take my son to the Renault World Championship Races at Silverstone to watch the qualifiers for next year's formula 1 team.

sadly due to Jessica and I having tonsillitus, today was spent introducing my kids to the joys of Middle Earth. My son is now a Lord of the Rings fan.

some weekends turn out better than others. I got out for a bike ride and a walk. On the street that runs into ours, I saw a big bear trap set up on the side of the road. I haven't seen a bear but there must be a bothersome one around.

AAA helped us back into town and of course the only place that could fix or replace the tire wasn't open at 6 AM on a Saturday. Fortunately, the Wendover Quality Inn (the guy who runs the place is wonderful!) let me get back in the room we checked out of so we could use the bathroom and I could take a short nap. $100 and 4 hours after our initial departure time we were finally on the road and pulled into our driveway around 7:30 PM Pacific time.
Sunday has been laundry, car washing (it was an insect horror movie on the front of my white car) and recovery, ahhhhhh.

Next weekend I have absolutely nothing planned and I am OK with that. :)

I've seen it only once in the US and I was amazed how popular it is over there. Once ABC Family showed the movie Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but on the same weekend. Our American friends knew every song and couldn't believe that we didn't know the movie. Here in Austria nearly no one knows the movie, but there are Sound of Music nus tours that take visitors to all the filming locations.

None of our "kids" live at home anymore, so going from just the two of us to an overfull house is like a whirlwind.
