Remnants of Hurricane Gordon are driving our luau inside. Yeah, thank goodness we have a place. It is just that indoors is no place for a luau. And now we have to haul food and decorations across town. Yuck!
The Luau came off without a hitch; except it never did rain. Got to meet many of my sister's Arkie friends, many of whom belong to her theater group. (performers, not watchers) So I guess that would be a troop. So many wonderful dishes including "bruda" (pronounced with a long u) salad. I did not tell her that would be Bruddah.
Yard work.....again. Then, my son's marching band goes to competition Saturday night. Maybe we'll pick up some dinner. Sunday mornings I get up early and go to breakfast with my Dad. My daughter leaves for DISNEYLAND!!
I was in Long Beach over the weekend. I took a nice walk in the morning, and promptly changed back into my PJ's when I got back to my room to watch TV and drink wine.
I hope to reach a point in my life where I can post about spending a week in Poland as an, Oh BTW kinda Post! Wow! Have fun and send us a "Post"Card.
Trying to unclutter the plethora of clutter that has found its way into our house. (Lots of Disney stuff.) I would rather fly off to Poland
Hope PNWTigger is having a safe, fun and exciting trip. This weekend has to be devoted to work, work, work!
We are home safe and sound. Did lots of chores over the weekend due to the kiddo staying at the house while we were gone to take care of the dogs.
We did not do nearly as much work as needed. Partly because we had to go visit my mother-in-law. Never a pleasant chore and especially stressful for Rod. She is 96, lives alone and hates me. Though her short term memory is so bad that we have to keep answering the same questions over and over; she is lucid enough that we can do nothing at this time. The mere mention of power-of-attorney or access to her accounts is an invitation out of the house. Sunday we watched horror movies, drank wine and decompressed. This coming weekend we have a Halloween party to attend and are leaving straight from there to our son's up north and then on to Washington until after Thanksgiving. And I haven't even started to pack!!
Sunday sounds like it was lovely. Which movies did you partake in? I hope to see pics of your costumes for the party! What part of Washington are you going to be in?
Believe it or not; two classics we had never seen. Child's Play and Children of the Corn Rod wanted to see Halloween but it is not on Netflix nor Hulu. We will be in Renton.
Those are great classic scary movies. You're probably having difficulty finding the original Halloween on Netflix/Hulu because they just released the latest version on the big screen. I just watched The Girl with all of the Gifts on Hulu the other day...new spin on a zombie movie...very enjoyable. You guys will only be a couple hours away from me in Renton. Wave as you drive through Vancouver on your way up there...LOL!
