We had a wonderful day there and spent some time at the Hard Rock Cafe and did some shopping. Yeah, yesterday was our National Day. We are celebrating that the last US, British, French and Russian soldiers left Austria on that day after WWII in 1955. That means Austria got its sovereignty back after the four occupying powers signed our state treaty and since then Austria is a free country again. The most important part of that state treaty was the Declaration of Neutrality, which was enacted on 26 October 1955 as a constitutional act of parliament.

Tuesday is an official holiday and I think we will relax a bit.

I love the city during Christmas time. By the way "The Sound of Music" musical just started at the Salzburg State Theatre and is already sold out until February. That's amazing since here it's not so well known like in the US or Japan. I've seen the movie once in the US and I was surprised how popular it is over there. Our friends knew all the songs and it was a lot of fun to watch the movie with them.

Tomorrow is a fund raiser halloween party for the school, and then Monday I am taking the day off (the kids have a day off school too) with friends coming over. I'll cook up a chilli and some hot dogs, we'll carve pumpkins, we have a pinata, and then we will go out trick or treating! Cannot wait.
