What's Happening with the Castle Drawbridge?

In that photo, you can see the other safety fences on the ramparts of the castle, and this new fence doesn't even attempt to mesh with that out-of-place fence either. It's just so boring, to be honest. And black is a horrible choice for that area.

    What I was imagining was worse.

    That said, if that's the final product, they could have done waaaaay better.

    I'm hoping it's not the finished product; the paint on the areas where the benches was removed doesn't match the existing colors at all. From photos it seems like they've used the same original base color, but didn't do any of the speckling or weathering to make it match the aged paint

    Plus, the railing could use some work

    I agree. I'm thinking that the whole thing will be refurbed before the 60th. It's been 10 years since the Castle has had a top to bottom paint job, right?

    I'd really like to see it go back to the grey from the early years, but I'd be happy if they settled on the really light pink with light grey accents that it had in the 90's; I think that provided a nice level of fantasy without being too over the top

    While I think it looks better like this, it doesn't do anything to make me think of an era other than modern day. It's a nice enough fence/rail thing, but it just doesn't belong there

    Looks acceptable to me. More importantly it looks fairly expensive (in other words it doesn't look cheap and awkward). I was right that it would be more than just the black railing we first saw last week.

    Yep, it's true. This is what we've come to expect from someplace that once prided itself on exceeding guest expectations. But who can blame them for not reaching higher, when guests find whatever Disney does nowadays to be "acceptable?"
