And where there was an illusion of a draw bridge .. the new fence does mess it up. And as for the black on gold railing ... does anyone care the fact ... medieval castles didn't have futuristic 19th Century looking rout iron fences around them? Not happy with this change. Then again ... I'm not happy with a lot of changes and degrades that have been happening over a period of years. * Loss of Cascade peek. * Loss of the train that sat near it (at least it's in a safe place now) * Loss of entry into Tom Sawyer Island fort. * Off limits to the tree house on Tom Sawyer Island. * Loss of Court of Angels * The ridiculous looking double railings in Golden Horseshoe * railings on Casey Jr. train trestle bridge over Story Book. * Loss of the more period correct Market Place on Main Street. * Loss of specialty collector type merchandise .. like the book shop .... all being further condensed into smaller locations. * How about Tomorrowland?!! The list goes on .. and on. (IT ALL ADDS UP!) Some can make excuses .. say stuff like "who really cares, only the Disney geeks care" ... which really infuriates. Some people around here love making excuses, live in a state of mind where Compromise is "the new" normal .. and live in a world where things decline by degrees .. and do nothing. Go right on ahead ... live in your mediocre world, that continues to chip away at the corners! I on the other hand try to make a difference writing letters, in hopes slight direction change occurs ... so that this park we love so much maintains some of it's ideals, details, and "illusion" .. that keeps it the park we still manage to love for us and for future generations - who might care!

Different design teams ... different creative leads ... with different outcomes. Seems for every 3 projects ... 1 comes out good .. the other 2 .. very questionable. Remember the changes to the water's edge (landscaping around the stream below) around Frontierland's entrance? That was around 2010 I think. They screwed that up. But they went back, and fixed it. A couple months later. Following BTMRR's big rehab... On trips in May and June this year .... the bats to the left (first entering) were hanging in "frozen stasis!" And the big new change to the Earthquake lift ... effects didn't work properly. It's like - Are you kidding me? You just came back up after over a year ... barely a month into reopening ... some of the effects are busted or never reconditioned in the first place can't work?? A 'mickey mouse' operation!
