Yes Moon Waffle, you are quite correct, we've highjacked your topic and I for one appoligize.

What's next for DCA? I'm hoping they finish what they started in the Hollywood Backlot section and make it an area people want to spend time in.

How on earth is thethe1 not getting the 'Admin'!

I am a proud LIBERAL DEMOCRAT and thethe1 posts are totally 'Foxed'.

Disney had some guts to showing those faults in the creation of our great state, why should we ignore them.

I am willing to listen to a 'educated' person regardless of their party status, but thethe1 all I could think is

    "Get a clue Conseverative!"

    Now about DCA upcoming changes?

Remaking the entrance plaza... is this still happening in the fall?

And what about development on Incredibles? Last we heard, WDI was going to "roll their own" ride system, instead of purchasing an existing robocoaster system, in order to contain costs.

Is this work still being done? Or has Incredibles morphed again into another attraction concept altogether?

I happened to be watching a tv show this morning, and one of the segments was on the robocoaster. I have seen it mentioned here on LP before, so now I know what is it finally! Anyway, one issue that concerns me about robocoaster is that, unless they could put far more seats on the end of the robotic arm (in the show I saw a maximum of four), the capacity for such an attraction would be very low. Unless each arm could have as much seating as an Indy vehicle, it would not have good throughput. To top it off, it would be an incredibly expensive attraction, assuming it had 20 or so of those robots... they look far more complex than an Indy ride motion vehicle, IMO.

I have to say the people who keep calling people bigots really must be looking at themselves here. You can challenge a view of history in a movie even if the challenge has to do with African Americans.

    Anyway back to DCA.

It's perfectly fine to challenge something in this film or any film, it's just that thethe's criticisms bore no resemblance to what's actually in that film. There aren't "too many black people," nor does the film exaggerate their impact. When challenged to show how it did, he couldn't.

As for what's next for DCA - I think the remaking of the entrance plaza qualifies as a "strong rumor" - i.e. it very well might happen. Ditto with the Incredibles attraction. But how about the dark ride in PP - is that a "strong rumor" or just a "LP wish-for rumor?" Is WDI really kicking around ideas for that?

    Point taken.

Whatever the case, thethe1 provided no evidence whatsoever to back up the claim that African American influence was overemphasized; he likely imagines it, or doesn't truly believe it, and was merely goofing around on the boards.

    DING! DING! DING!

    trekkeruss gets it!

Yes, you are spot on. This is why the accountaneers told WDI to come up with their own ride system.

Converting the four-seat robotic arm to an eight-seat arm (I believe that's the upper limit because of weight constraints) would be prohibitively expensive. Massively prohibitively expensive! (Think "Platinum Deluxe Mission: Space" kind of cost here.)

So... if WDI can roll their own ride system that will please the bean counters, in terms of both cost and THRC, then I'm guessing Incredibles will get the green light.

How long will this research process take? Who the heck knows. Glendale seems to have their own special wormhole in the Space/Time Continuum.

But as far as I know, development work is still plodding along.
