    I'd be very surprised.

In fact, if that happens you will be treated to a Kobe beef steak dinner at the Brighton Hotel near Tokyo Disneyland by yours truly.

IF you can come up with a comparable counter offer for when I win, that is...

    ;)

I'd say it's time for Connecticut voters to put an end to his shenanigans. I completely understand keeping a senior Senator in power for the sake of the seniority alone, but Lieberman needs to get the boot. I'm sure he's probably not up for re-election anytime soon.

I'd also say that it's time for the Senator Reid to pull the plug on Lieberman's committee chairmanship.

If the jobs picture doesn't improve, it's inevitable. I think the jobs numbers will start to turn around in the next 6 months, but will it be enough to energize the voters?

    I'm hopeful, but realistic.

It seems like we've been in the dark ages for so long with Republican majorities and Presidents, that I hate to think we squander a second of the opportunity we have now.

I guess I need to start looking for an assignment in Yokosuka.

As for taking away his toys, they can do it but it wouldn't do any good I think...at that point he'd probably just go Republican entirely (which is pretty much where we're at now).

    I can totally appreciate that!

I just feel as though there are so many turncoats and potential turncoats out there, it's just not as easy as it may appear even with "big" majorities.

    Sounds good.

SO what do I get when *I* win the bet? ;)

Lieberman is gone after 2012, given his recent actions. I think the chances of him running again are very slim. He's pushing 68, has plenty of bucks, and doesn't need the gig any longer. He's always been a media spotlight hog, so why should we be surprised by his public option temper tantrums?

Lieberman is either going to retire in 2013 or take a cushy seven-figure lobbyist job on K Street for the insurance industry. Doesn't matter if he gets kicked out of the Dem caucus or loses his committee chair. In his mind, he's already checked out and is working for his Connecticut corporate masters as an under-the-radar lame duck Senator.

What really kills me is that we spend tons of money at the Federal Gov't level, yet our safety net is a joke.

Lose your 90K a year job? Well here's $482 a week. Yeah that should keep you safe until you find a new job.

If you were to give him a reasonable handicap based on the odds, he would only owe you a stale sandwich from Subway.
