I think you probably said what you did rather tongue-in-cheek, but if not I would have to strongly disagree. I think Boardwalk pulls off the theme wonderfully. It provides kind of a 'Best of Boardwalk' interpretation without the really tacky stuff.

By the way... there are carny games at the Boardwalk... do you people actually go to a resort before commenting on it?

    ;-)

Dinosaur fossils were found at a site (the Boneyard).
A Museum and Research Center - the Dino Institute- opened near the site to study the fossils found (DINOSAUR)
To capitalize on the Dinosaur fever, Chester and Hester opened up Dinorama to entertain and profit off of tourists driving out to the fossil site, similar to the already mentioned roadside attractions that were very common in the US.

So to me, it all fits together, and Dinorama works wells.
Plus, I think guests expected those kind of whimsical attractions since the other WDW parks had them but DAK didn't. At least Dinorama brought something guests could easily relate to if the other DAK attractions weren't enough.

    Just remember kids

Tokyo is getting Disneysea and Ragiging Spirits and we are getting cheap stuff like DINORAMA because Disney executives look at demographics that tell them that middle-class americans coming to the parks are stupid and wont know better.

But everything I've heard is that Raging Spirits is basically a piece of crap. It's so bad they won't, thankfully, add it to HKDL. I think you could have come up with dozens of better examples to illustrate your point.

I figure the concept of Animal Kingdom as a whole is Don't Go To Busch Gardens.
The Mouse wants to keep his guests on WDW property.
I would also guess that Pleasure Island came into being to put some nails into Church Street Station's coffin. Why take a cab at night to somewhere in Orlando when you can get on a hotel bus and roll on over to Mickey's Bar and Grill?
Heck there's even mini-golf to keep guests off of International Drive.

Y'know, the only big thing I can think of that is missing at WDW is a dolphin show. How soon til a Finding Nemo dolphin show appears at Animal Kingdom?

Water parks, shopping, even a movie theater. It's a wonder how any attraction outside of WDW property stays in bizness.

Sea World is a nice day trip, plus since Anheuser-Busch took over, the free beer samples make the fish a lot more interesting, and colorful!
