Most of the rooms at the new hotel seem to be in the 50,000-60,000 yen range, which is a very good deal in my opinion. I paid about 112,000 yen for a suite at the MiraCosta; looking at the price chart of the new hotel, I could find a similarly sized room for about half that price! It's a steal, at least for me.

And yes, even compared to the new TDL hotel the MiraCosta location is far superior.

Aside from the morning rush, I would wager that the private entrance would not be of much use during the slower parts of the day. The best part about the MiraCosta's entrance is that it's extremely convenient (30 seconds from the elevators) and saves a lot of time. The exclusive hotel guests only turnstile for the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel doesn't seem to offer the same plusses except to save a few minutes waiting with the normal guests during park opening. Regarding the hotel's location, I think it's a great spot. It's kind of disappointing that it can't offer the same park views as the MiraCosta, but like Mara said, it is just a 5 minute walk to Tokyo Disneyland. This new hotel will be all about magic and fantasy, while the MiraCosta can retain it's opulence and elegance. Being a DisneySea fan, I'll always take the location of the MiraCosta, of course. Staying in a Mediterranean Harbor is just immersive beyond any other Disney hotel, regardless of whether the Italian setting is to your taste. That being said, I have plans to stay at both in mid-July. I can't wait!

The views are just one of the many reasons why the MiraCosta's my favorite Disney hotel. After the ugly parking lot view I had at the Grand Californian, I can't wait to see the beauty of Mediterranean Harbor again from my room. Oh, and that lovely Porto Paradiso background music is heaven to my ears! I always have the windows open 24/7.

I checked out the view from one of the entrance side rooms, and while I would prefer a harbor view it was very, very cool in its own right and being able to see the "open dash" and all the characters strolling around all day, not to mention the awesome aquasphere, is way cool.

Hearing the AquaSphere BGM all day and night was a neat plus, and I still got to admire the backside Tuscany-style architecture of the MiraCosta. Even the rooms that face towards the main entrance of the hotel offer quite a nice view, with nice landscaping along with several marble statues reminsicent of classic Roman gardens.

It's not like you could see the hotel if you were standing by this new structure, because the monorail station would be right in the way looking back toward the hotel. And, from the hotel, you would see the station too, if you were looking at the park. so, I have no idea what this thing is. Maybe it is just something to make the area more attractive? We can only wait and see....or wait for someone in the know to tell us what it's for!
