If you post any opinion, you are going to get blasted by someone. So, you gots to be brave!!!(And very thick skin) hehehe And being first, well that's just human nature. The first person is pretty much anchored in their opinions and beliefs and just plugs right on in, sets the tone, and off it goes. I give YOU that, Lisann. You're very forthcoming; look at your answer to my post. It's simple. If someone ventures into WE, that's the way it is. Goodness, anyone knows that by now. Lots of gross exaggeration and misleading titles, as you put it. Then just don't go there. Besides, by now, you can just about guess the content of the Topic by the Originator. There is so much more in community and everywhere else. And I have found in these areas, most people are linking everyone to "fun" topics. I'm thinking I see this differently. These are discussion boards. As I've made friends here, I enjoy sharing info. I like the info I read. I send it to my friend via email. This just doesn't bother me. So, as Lisann put it, "That's my viewpoint anyway."

There have recently been some issues with the reports reaching us moderators so if you are talking about recent issues this is why they were not resolved. We review EVERY report to moderator that we receive. In my case I read the post in question and many of the posts before and after that post. It is Admined, along with any other posts referring to it if we feel it has broken any community standards. So if you feel reports aren't taken care of it's because we haven't seen the reports. Also, please remember that if you quote or respond to a post that has been Admined your post will be removed also. So in many cases you feel like your post was Admined when it really was only removed. "frankly, we shouldn't have to rely on other board members provide 'moderation' on the message board...the ADMINs should take care of most of that on their own, that is, after all, the function of a moderator isn't it?" The day I start receiving pay for what I do is the day you can complain about having to help me moderate. I have a life, as well as all the other moderators on LP. Life is going on around us as we sit down to take the time to read LP like all the rest of you. In fact one does their moderating while they are at their paid job. Last week I got out of bed at midnight to help another moderator take care of a troll that began posting in any and every topic. We took out over 400 posts while he was posting them. We don't get paid and we don't get much appreciation for what we do. But all of us do it because of the owners of this site. We GIVE our time to them for them. There is always the alternative, having no moderators, how many of you would hang around then? I'd also like you to know that there really aren't that many of us. So if we each happen to have something going on in our lives on the same day there may be some issues that cannot be taken care of right away. We do what we can when we can. There are many many posts made on LP in one day. We really cannot read EVERY post in every section. This is why we ask for your help. There has been many times where moderating LP has taken time away from my family. So complain about me all you want. But I'm doing this out of the goodness of my heart. I ask for and get nothing in return! Also, I can say that I personally have read every post made in the WE section in the last few months. I know a lot of you left that section because of the anger and aggression that was there. I have worked really hard to try to make it a civil place again. Honestly, is this something I should have to do for other adults? Probably not, but I take a few hours of my day everyday to read this section and moderate it. I know this topic was started because some take issue with how Darkbeer posts his topics. There is nothing he is doing that is breaking community standards. My suggestion is if you see the topic is posted by him and you don't like how he posts then just don't click on it. The first 10 posts of every post he makes are bashing him for posting the topic. Why waste your time. If you don't like it don't click on it. I will not apologize for the way we moderate LP. LaughingPlace is what it is. We do the best we can with what we are.

You are right, he is not breaking Community Standards, in my opinion makes it even worse. Everyone knows World Events is a more combative area on LP. I have no qualms with that. I read and post at my own risk. I'm a big girl and can handle it. However, I do think misleading and threads just to agitate are out of line. Boy, has it's been made clear here that I can choose to not click on it. I hate that it was SuzieQ who started the thread and I don't want it to appear that I'm sticking up for her as people know we are friends. I had no clue of her topic till I seen it. I didn't take her initial post as wanting action of some sort, who knows maybe she did. It was just conversation starter (as others have put) about this common thread of late. My reports to moderator have always been addressed and I respectfully appreciate it. Unfortunately for me, that will limit my participation on LP, as I've always enjoyed WE unlike others. I feel like a negative Nelly right now, so I guess a time out is in order for me. Just feels like people are vomiting all over LP and it's not the pleasant or fun place it used to be. I regret even participating in this thread.

I have also been called by people reporting something because it needed immediate attention and I have admined the post from my cel phone. And if you need proof on the hours I spend sitting here feel free to ask Doobie anytime. He can’t understand how I can do it.

It would be nice if there was a way to prosecute him for interferring or something. I also understand that I do not have to pay to be a member of LP and that everything costs money to operate.

This is obvious with the rapport between so many and the personal info some have to tease each other in their posts. Some are very cliquish. My personal experience began in WE. Ouch. By the time I ventured into the other areas of LP, the veterans then knew all about me, and had determined their own opinion of me. But I didn't know them. And it is very, very difficult to find your way into this community if you are new. I didn't announce myself in a new thread as some smarter ones do. I didn't even know to do that. I just knew these people here love Disney and that was enough for me. These people had to be nice! But as LP grew larger, you have a much more diverse group and the small community becomes a big city, or huge state. So if I let my feelings get hurt over some posts, then I shouldn't participate. Who needs that? I'm thinking I'm way more thick skinned than some of the veterans. I know there have been trolls, but I must have missed something. If I see a new name, or a name I'm not familiar with, it is so easy to click on that name and find out how long they've been on LP. If that day is their first post ~ hellllooo. So, if the post is questionable, I just ignore it. It's a free place to post. You are going to get the bad with the good. So, why would you hate to have participated in this thread? This isn't rocket science. It's just LaughingPlace. And it's fun. And since the moderators are reading this, why in the heck did you Admin me at 10:30 am on the 3rd of August . . . . LOL ~ just kidding! ;D

(I don't say this as to be a braggart.) I've noticed a decrease in the LP community rather than increase. There are many, many people who used to post a ton on LP that rarely show up or are just gone. There are many different reasons as to why, trolls, hurt feelings, verbal attacks (even if they ARE ADMIN'd), emails sent from reading your profile that are crude, etc. Just my 2 cents.
