52 years later ... and a total of 5 "Magic Kingdom" Tomorrowlands ....

The "1967:A World On The Move" Tomorrowland is the gem of them all.

To this day ... nothing else comes close to the optimism this one offered.

A person could identify with it ....
How does a human being related to cartoons? With all the newer 'cartoony' additions to date?

The problem .... Crass decision makers in Burbank and Glendale who have decided to spite everything a "Tommorrowland" should and could be .... be decided to go for the easy way out. You know, the lazy way.

It wasn't too long ago when Walt used such words as "not rest on our laurels"... well ... with crass cartoon attempts (such as the Laugh Comedy Club at WDW's TL) is pretty horrible.

But just shoot for mediocrity because no once will notice????

    Can I say "DCA"????

You know ... there's creative minds out there ..... there's futurism in the minds of many visionaries today .... But the corporate climate of today has STIFLED them!

Any Tomorrowland in any of the Magic Kingdom parks today are only meant to be a commerical for Disney's latest cartoons.

I use to think Buzz Lightyear was okay....
but with the push for so much more when you add up all 5 TL's in all "MK" parks ..... it seems the name of "Tomorowland" has become irrelevant!

And to any imagineer at Disney who reads this ....
Here's what I got to say.....

I'm not happy with what you all are doing!

    Do me a favor ...

Go read the dedication plaque at the front of DL's Tomorrowland.

There you'll read a quote from Walt Disney from opening day 1955.

Too bad those words don't reflect what you're putting in to each TL throughout the world!

Now, back when Disneyland first started, sure they had "commercials" for Disney animation but that was ONLY in Fantasyland right?

Was ANYTHING in Tomorrowland related to any Disney cartoon or movie for the first 25 years or so?

In fact, aside from the Frontierland vibe which reflected a lot of the Disney real life stuff, the ONLY part of the park that really reflected Disney animation WAS Fantasyland.

    Not anymore.

And I guess that's why, in my eyes, what they finally did in Hong Kong was to almost merge the Fantasyland and Tomorrowland concepts into one cartoonish "ad" for Disney/Pixar.

I think that's what I've been trying to explain to everyone. Oh, and the dumb premise of HKTL being a "space rest area" or something is just stupid. At least re-name the place "Future-Fantasyland" since that's what it is.

The 70's TL isn't that great either with all the bland white. Florida's TL is trashy and dirty, but they had a good idea when they started. I Missed the old Gold '98 TL the most, because it has warm and colorful. Now, I think I would prefer a mix between HK and Florida's TL.
